My Garden is Coming to Life!

When I normally do a garden post of my yard,  the garden is lush and full of flowers (and weeds).  This time I thought you would find it interesting seeing the garden when it is very bare and things are just starting to come alive.  It looks quite different right now than it will look in June when I'll practically need a machete to find my way to my garden shed.

The first flowers to bloom in any spring garden are the spring bulbs.  Here are some pretty daffodils and hyacinths.

My Star Magnolia is the first tree in our yard to bloom in the spring.  And this year, it's a beauty!  It is so full of blossoms!  I just love it.

Our west hill is all covered in Ivy so we don't have to mow it.  It's just starting to green up and fill up the hill.  There are also lots of daffodils planted on this hill, but they don't bloom anymore because they need to be dug up and divided.  I never seem to have the time to do that, so it never gets done.

This is the septic mound system and the fence that borders our property.  By mid-summer the septic mound will be full of flowers (and weeds).

This daffodil clump is blooming happily in the sun!

What can I say, I love my magnolia tree!  I just can't get enough of it!

I love the shape of this tree, and how airy and open it is.

I noticed today the tulips are starting to bloom.  These white hardy ones are always the first tulips to bloom and never seem to disappoint me.  They grower thicker every year, unlike most tulips which tend to fizzle out after a few years.

It's always so exciting to see plants come out of the ground in spring.  I love the first bloom of every variety of flower all season long!  I've noticed a lot of bloggers have been posting pictures of flowering crab apple trees.  Ours haven't bloomed yet, but ooh, I can't wait!  They are so pretty when they are in bloom!

So what about you?  What's blooming in your yard?  I'd love to hear from you!

Have a great day!  Amy
