Digital Tuesday Challenge 'Leap Year'

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week's challenge is in honor of 'Leap Year', so we are asking you to simply make a card or project with 'things that leap' and be sure to include at least one digital element. Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish and they are giving away 5 digis OR 4 digis and a digi paper pack to one lucky randomly chosen winner.

I saw these adorable felt bunnies in the Easter Craft aisle at JoAnn's Fabrics and Crafts and really wanted to make a card with this little cutie. So the only digital element on my card is the sentiment, which I created on my computer. My sketch is by 'The Deconstructed Sketch' (D538). The paper is My Mind's Eye 'Lime Twist'.

If you'd like to play along with us this week, simply click on the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blinkie in my sidebar and it will take you directly to the Challenge Site with further instructions.

If some of you have been wondering where I've been lately, and why I haven't been posting much, it's because I'm very busy right now painting a mural in one of our children's Sunday School Rooms at church. I'm using all digital images on the walls that most of you will recognize. I can't wait till I'm finished, I promise to post lots of pictures. It's turning out really cute!

Have a great day! Amy

Digital Tuesday Challenge "Make it SPARKLE!"

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. Our challenge this week is 'Make it Sparkle!'. Simply make a card or project with some sparkley, shiny stuff on it! Our sponsor this week is MyGrafico. They are giving away one digi set and a 20% discount to one lucky randomly chosen winner.

To make my card, I used a Doodle Pantry image called "Cupcake Ants". This image includes several sentiments and digi papers, and is available in both outline and colored. I chose to use the outline image and color it myself. My Sketch is by My Favorite Things (MFTWSC56). The paper is DCWV 'The Sweet Stack'. I used a Fiskars Border Punch to create the cupcake topper. The little cupcake is from Martha Stewart. This card is so Sparkly in real life I need sunglasses to look at it! LOL! The designer paper is glittered, I put Stickles on the cupcake in the image, and the little cupcake has chunks of glitter on it. If you'd like to play along with us this week, simply click on the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blinkie in my sidebar and it will take you directly to the Challenge Site with further instructions.

Rub-a-Dub-Dub!

Hello! Today I have a Doodle Pantry card to show you! The image is an older one, but it was just re-released with a colored version, digi papers, and sentiments. It's called "Bird Bath Joy Color Plus". I used one of the sentiments on the front of the card, and a second sentiment from the set on the inside of the card. It reads: "Wishing You this Kind of Happy". My sketch is from Splitcoaststampers (SC359). The paper is My Mind's Eye Stella Rose 'Mabel'. I put the main image up on dimensionals, and the flowers are made of felt and purchased from JoAnn's Fabrics and Crafts.

Have a great day! Amy

Digital Tuesday Challenge 'Use Your Stash!'

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week's challenge is an easy one: 'Use Your Stash!'. Simply put, don't go out and buy anything for this challenge, just use what you already have and be sure to include at least one digital element! I think 'using our stash' is a really simple challenge for most of us paper crafters. I mean, other than glue and fresh ink, most of us could probably craft for twenty years before we'd run out of anything! Such hoarders we are! LOL! Anyway, our sponsor this week is Spesch Designer Stamps and they are giving away 3 digis to one lucky randomly chosen winner.

To make my card, I used the Spesch Designer Stamp 'Love's Me Not'. My sketch is by TCP Tuesday (TCPTUES99), and the paper is a new DCWV stack called 'The Chateau Lavender Matstack'. But I bought it LONG BEFORE this challenge was posted, so I'm not cheating, I swear! LOL! All the embellies on my card are very old. The butterflies are these plastic shiny things I bought in the dollar bins at JoAnn's Fabrics and crafts, I simply added crystals to their heads, and the Prima Flower, lace, and ribbon I've had in my stash for over a year. I put the main image up on dimensionals, and I added lots of Stickles to all the little dots in the image. The designer paper is also very sparkly in real life, so this is a very shiny, sparkly card!

Last Minute Valentine Ideas

Hello! Today I have some last minute photographs of the last of my Valentine Treat Holders to show you. The few pictures show a heart paper mache box, that I decorated for Valentine's. I had these boxes left over from my daughter's wedding over a year ago. I simply covered them with designer paper, added ribbon and pom pom trim, and a prima flower. The designer paper is Bo Bunny.

Now for those of you who don't want to go through so much work to make treat holders for your child's classmates, the pictures below take minutes to make. You simply dump the candy in a little baggie ( I got mine in the beading department of JoAnn's Fabrics and Crafts), then put a small strip of Designer Paper around the bag and staple it. I use a Spellbinder's Nestability to cut out an interesting shape of a different designer paper, fold it half and glue it to the top of the bag. From there I just add sentiments, tags, embellies, whatever is left in my stash.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Amy

"Let's Play Ball!"

Hi everyone! Are you all keeping warm out there? It's FREEZING here in Northwestern Wisconsin. The wind was so cold and strong as I was putting gas in my car, I thought I would die! Brrr, I hate being cold! Anyway, today I have a masculine card to show you that uses a new digital image from Doodle Pantry. It's called "Football and Helmet Color Plus" because it comes in outline images, several different colors of the helmet to choose from, and sentiments. I used the outline images and colored the image myself. And if you hurry, this set is FREE with Purchase from now until February 24th!

To make my card, I used a Splitcoaststampers Sketch (SC352) and Doodle Pantry Digital Paper 'Sports Digi Paper Pack'. The brown textured paper I created myself using the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder 'Mesh'. The yellow background paper is a retired sports paper from Colorbok called 'Perfect Pages Sport'.

Have a great day! And keep warm! Amy

Another Valentine Treat Box

Hello! Today I have another Valentine Treat Box to show you. If you saw this POST, I explained how I like to re-purpose old boxes and containers into new creations. This treat box was actually made from an old chocolate box I received as a gift a couple of years ago. Yes, I hung on to it that long because I knew someday I would use it. I simply recovered it with heart paper, added some ric rac trim, a pretty bow, a felt heart, and a Martha Stewart tag and I got this beautiful creation: This is what the box looked like before:

Digital Tuesday Challenge 'Pink or Red'

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week's challenge is another color challenge: simply use the colors pink or red on your card! Our sponsor this week is Stamp Fairy.

To make my card, I used the Stamp Fairy image 'Donna and Donny Love', and a sketch by Theresa J. Winslow. My paper is Bo Bunny 'The Crush Collection'. A pre-made felt heart and some fluffy pom pom ball trim (both purchased at JoAnn's) were used for embellishment. I also added brads and a SU! Border Punch. The sentiment is by MFT.

Valentine Altered Treat Container

Hello! I had a very relaxing day off today, and it was much needed after 9 continuous work days! I spent most of the day in the kitchen baking Banana Bread and cooking a nice evening meal of scalloped potatoes and chicken drumsticks, I also dyed my 'roots' so that's done for the month, and the rest of my time was spent in my craft room making treat containers for Valentines. Even though my kids are in their twenties, I still like to send them treats for Valentine's, Easter, and Halloween. They both have such stressful lives with their college/graduate school studies and musical performances, I think a little gift in the mail helps lift their spirits a lot.

When making treat containers, I actually re-purpose and re-use old containers that I have saved through out the year. Whenever I see an unusual container, I look at it and think 'Mmm, I bet I could make this into something else, I better 'save it' and into a box it goes! Then during the various holidays through out the year, I pull out my box and I am always amazed at all the unique containers I have to make something with. Here is one of the treat containers I made today that I filled with Valentine Candy:
Here's a detail shot. I cut the heart with a Spellbinder's Die. The sentiment is a retired DCWV sticker, and I added the heart and key charm with a glue dot.

Now this is what the container was in it's first life! Isn't that amazing? I simply took the container apart, laid it on a piece of designer paper, traced around it, cut it out, and glued the paper onto the box. A few decorations later and wa-la I have a unique, one of a kind treat box!

I used 4 different sheets of designer paper to make my project. To add more interest, I added a punched brown lace paper border to the top and bottom of the sleeve.

I have lots more Valentine projects to show you later this week so stay tuned!

Have a great day! Amy

Doodle Pantry 'Cocoa Ants'

Hello! It's new release day at Doodle Pantry. Today I'm showing you one of their newest images called 'Cocoa Ants'. It's available in outline, pre-colored, and with digi papers and several different sentiments. I used the out-line image and colored it myself. My sketch is by The Sweet Shop and the papers are DCWV 'The Christmas Combo Stack'.

I really love this new image. I think it's the perfect image to send to someone suffering 'the winter blues'. Although with this beautiful spring-like weather were having lately, I don't think too many people are having 'the winter blues' right now! Isn't this weather wonderful?

Have a great day! Amy
