Every year around this time I see pictures of beautiful holiday dresses that other fashion bloggers and women are wearing to holiday parties. And every year I think, "Oh, that's gorgeous! But where would I ever wear that to?" My holidays are simple: church, and time at home with family and friends. A sequined, mini body con dress wouldn't go over too well at my church, and it wouldn't fare well with our Wisconsin winters either! But if I ever spend New Year's Eve in Miami or Vegas, you betcha I'm donning one of those... and to my husband's delight!
For now, rather than run and buy a new holiday outfit, I decided to shop my own closet and this is what I came up with:
I am wearing a cream peplum top from J.C. Penney, silk pajama pants (or joggers as some people like to call them) from Express, and black, suede wedge heels. I then "glammed" this outfit up by adding a bold cream and gold statement necklace from Stitch Fix, and large gold bracelets. I carried an antique velvet clutch.
This is the cream version of the same peplum top I showed you in THIS POST. I liked this top so much I bought it in another color. It's such a classic top and has such a great fit.
My necklace I received from Stitch Fix years ago. This is only the second time I've worn it. I love it, but because of the size, it doesn't go well with most of the items in my wardrobe. I think it goes beautifully with this top though.
I'm afraid my antique black velvet clutch just wanted to blend in with the background. It's a very simple, small clutch with a little velvet handle and a gold clasp. To add more "bling" to my outfit, I wore very heavy, thick, sparkly gold bracelets and lots of rings. I find that adding a statement piece like this necklace, can dress up even the most simplest of outfits.
I love my suede wedges! They are so comfortable!
I realize it's hard to see these pants in these photos. If you'd like to see more pictures of this style of pants see THIS POST. In that post, I'm wearing the exact same style of pants but in a different color. Those pictures were taken outdoors, so you can see the details very well.
Have a great day! Amy

You look beautiful, Amy! I love your outfit! If I lived in another "fast" town, I might be tempted to buy a really nice cocktail dress for a party, but everything is so casual and laid back in my area!
