Cased Fall Tree Cards

I feel that I have been showing more cased cards than original cards lately, but I have been so busy with fall gardening chores I don't have time to spend hours in the craft room creating original designs.  Plus, I love to show my readers that when they see a card or design they love, they don't have to run out and buy all the new products.  Usually when I case a card I use the same concept or design, but a different stamp or papers because that is what I have in my stash.

I absolutely fell in love with this card HERE.    The irony is I cased Michelle, who in turn cased her cards from someone else.  How funny is that?

I thought this design was so perfect for fall birthdays.  The original card used Stampin' Up! images, mine are from Papertrey Ink.

I stamped the tree twice, once on the square panel and once on the main panel.  Then I popped the square panel up on dimensionals.

I loved how the sentiment on the original card was done, but it didn't work with my stamps so I had to do mine differently.  I used an MFT die to create the banner, and I popped that up on dimensionals also.

The pain about the Papertrey Ink stamp is that all the little leaves had to be colored in by hand with a water-based marker.  No wonder I don't use it much, even though I love the image.

The trunk is stamped separately in a solid color ink.  The grass was hand drawn in.

I love this Clean and Simple design.  I have the feeling I will be making more cards with this style;  perhaps changing the colors of the leaves for different seasons?  We'll see!

Have a great day!  Amy

  2. Such a creative card design. Love it! And the CASE'd card looks beautiful too. Great tip for new card makers to use what they have instead of buying new stamps.
