Just a Couple of Challenge Cards

The Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers this week was Tenugui Towels. They are printed cotton towels that have many uses in Japanese culture. I chose this bright, fun, bicycle towel for my inspiration. I used the retired Stampin Up! set 'Simply Summer' for my main image, and the sentiment is from Stampin Up!'s 'Loads of Love'. I used the Stampin Up! Scalloped Border Punch, and two Cuttlebug Dies for the sentiment. Real Red and White are the Cardstock Colors, ribbon was added for embellishment.

My second card is for this week's color challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com. The colors were Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie, and Garden Green. My first response when seeing these bold, dark colors was 'ich'. But I learned a long time ago that when you work with colors like these, you need to use a lot of white! LOL! The stamp set is Stampin Up! 'Loads of Love'. The Brillant Blue panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug. The sentiment is mounted up on dimensionals. Ribbon and dew drops were added for embellishment.
Coming back tomorrow with more Valentine Goodies! Have a good day! Amy

  1. I love the red and white bike card. It's just so clean and fresh looking. That was a hard color combo this week. I agree that lots of a neutral with accents of the bold colors is the way to go. I like your little truck.
