A Little White Dress and I'm Co-Hosting Fashion Files Today!

Friday's Fashion Post is one day early because I am co-hosting Thursday Fashion Files with Jill and Carrie.  This is my first time ever co-hosting a link up so I hope when I wake up in the morning, everything is working properly.  Although I think I have better computer skills than my hubby or kids, I still have a long way to go!

The last three weeks I have been posting pictures of outfits I wore on my May road trip to Vegas.  So far I have shown you Road Trip Outfits,  a Day Time Vegas Outfit,  a sequin dress that I wore to a Vegas Show,  and a Night Time Vegas Outfit.    This is an outfit I wore as we began our five day journey home.  We were not entirely sure what we would be doing the day I wore this outfit, but we knew we would be stopping at the affluent village of Vail, Colorado so I wanted to look nice.

I always research weather when planning my travel outfits, but because I had no idea what exactly we were doing that day I only looked at temperatures at my wake-up hotel and my night time hotel.  Both were in the upper seventies.  Vail, however, was not so warm, so I was freezing all day.  Thankfully I had my white jean jacket with me, but I was still cold.

I also have to mention I was probably the only person in Vail dressed like this.  Everyone else had sportswear/athletic wear on.  I felt a little out-of-place.  Apparently, even though Vail is affluent, they like to dress in comfortable, yet high end, athlete leisurewear.  I also saw several women in fur vests (yes, it was that cold!).  I said to my husband "If I knew that was the look here in May, I would have brought mine!".  Of course, mine would be faux whereas theirs was real fur.

My dress is borrowed from a friend.  It is a Fit and Flare style which I normally never wear because I feel this cut doesn't flatter me.  However, I really liked this dress and found it super comfy because the material is a thick, stretch knit.

It has a very pretty see-thru waist line and an exposed zipper in the back.  I'm not sure I really like exposed zippers, but they are the trend now.

To add color to the all white dress I wore a coral necklace (old), and carried a coral cross body bag that my daughter gave me for Mother's Day.

I had a white bracelet on while in Vail and it broke while I was shopping in a store sending little beads scattered everywhere.  My arms felt naked without a bracelet on, so when I found this pretty colorful one at a gift shop for only $10.00 I snapped it up!

I wore my comfy yellow flip-flops from b.o.c on my feet.  Other than having cold feet all day, they were quite comfortable to walk in.  The support and grip of these shoes are amazing!

Because Vail is colder than a lot of the rest of the United States, all their spring flowers and crab apples were still in bloom.  It was nice to experience spring blooms twice this year!  Most of these pictures were taken in the Alpine Gardens.

Have a Great Day!  And be sure to join the link up below!  Amy

  2. I've done the same thing...and we even live here in Colorado---but it's interesting how when you go up in the mountains, it's cooler!!
I think it's nice that you dressed up like this---I wouldn't consider it out of place---even if everyone else is being a slob!!
I even felt the same way about the exposed zippers at first---I wonder if it's because we've been so used to them being hidden for so long? But I like them now---maybe because I've seen them more!
I think this dress is more than flattering on you---maybe you should get one?
