You're a Peach

I've been noticing that the trend in paper crafting has been getting away from using designer paper and creating your own background.  Now I'm starting to wonder what in the world I'm going to do with all the mountains of paper in my craft room if this trend continues much longer.  :)  Wasn't it just a few years ago we were all using large background stamps, then we switched over to designer paper?  Good thing I still have those background stamps!

So I decided to try my hand at this new watercolor background trend, and using watercolor paper and re-inkers I created my own background for this peach image from Flourishes.

The ink I used for the background was Dusty Durango.  The image is from the "Cherries and Peaches" set.

I colored the image with Copics, cut it out, and mounted it up on dimensionals.  Then I added Crystal Effects to make it shiny.

The sentiment was stamped directly onto the main image panel, and sequins were added for embellishment.

So what about you?  Are you still using designer paper, or have you tried making your own backgrounds yet?  I'd love to hear from you!

Have a great day!  Amy
