The best thing about skirts over dresses is that you can create entirely new looks. The skirt I am wearing today I received over a year ago from Stitch Fix. This is the third time I've worn it, which really says a lot about the versatility of this skirt because most of my clothes don't see a lot of wear. I just love the comfort of the soft knit fabric, and the classic black and white design.
The first time I wore this skirt was when we were on vacation in St. Louis. You can see that look HERE. In that post, I wore the skirt with a white tank, a sheer, black, sleeveless top, a white cardigan, and black sandals. The next time I wore the skirt, I switched the top to white and wore sneakers. You can see that look HERE. In both of those looks, I brought in color with my jewelry.
For today's look, I stuck with the classic color of black and white again, but brought in a pop of color with my bag.
So we know the skirt is old, but what is new? Well three items are new this year. The cute yellow bag I received from my daughter this past Mother's Day, but I also got the black tee as a JCP doorbuster for only $9.99 and I bought the shoes at JCP for less than $4.00. How, do you ask? By waiting until they were on clearance for $16.97, using a $10.00 off coupon, and then my rewards points. I've had these shoes on my wish list from JCP ever since they came out, and I checked back every week to see if they went on clearance. It was a risk, because once they go clearance they don't always have your size, but I got lucky this time!
Stitch Fix, and the bracelets are old.
It comes in many other different colors and even some prints, and it is a staple in the Worthington department of JCP if your interested in this type of tee.
Have a great day! Amy

I'm a big fan of black and white, too, Amy and this Spring I bought and wore ALOT of yellow, but mostly with gray for the office. A splash of yellow just peps me up! Love your look!ReplyDelete
Love the pop of color the bag provides!!ReplyDelete
Very cute outfit! I love skirts that can be changed up depending on the occasion.ReplyDelete
I am a big lover of houndstooth, but I don't wear it a lot in the spring/summer... not sure why, but I love it mainly in the fall and winter. But, I love it on you here and that pop of yellow the bag adds is really nice, too! I really love that skirt, too, the pattern is a little different then the usual houndstooth pattern, so fun! I really need to do Stitch Fix again soon.ReplyDelete

When I was teaching, I was known as the stylish teacher. Of course, my middle school students loved my 14 different colors of Converse! But, when I retired, my uniform became Patagonia shorts, tees and flip flops. I kind of miss putting together fun outfits. I changed my purse to match my outfits and even the boys would ask me what color I was carrying.ReplyDelete
You can't beat classic black and white, lady! Looking great!ReplyDelete

You are blending old and new beautifully, Amy. Your skirt and open-ankle booties are gorgeous. Loving how this is both elegant and sort of rocker-ish. I am always in love with a stylish black+white combo.ReplyDelete

I love this look!! That POP of yellow of the purse pulls the look altogether. Love that you only paid $4.00 for those shoes!! I am a dress girl, myself, only because I would rather not have something around my waist. Weird, I know.ReplyDelete
