A Ladies' Birthday Card

This is a very feminine card I made for my daughter's birthday.

I used a image from the Crafty Secrets set "Season's of Friendship".  It has a lot of tiny detail so it was quite the challenge to color.  I got about half way through and the ink from one of my Copic markers spilled all over the page.  I didn't have the heart to start all over again, so I just left it hoping my daughter wouldn't notice.  I don't think she did because she didn't say anything.  Can you see my boo-boo?

I used two different shades of pink card stock and two different Cuttlebug Embossing Folders to create the background.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! "Happiest Birthday Wishes" and is stamped with white craft ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I stamped it on a separate piece of card stock then adhered it to the embossed panel with brads.

Stickles were put on the centers of the flowers on the dress and a ribbon was added for embellishment.

The scalloped bottom was cut with an MFT die.

Here is a picture of my daughter Ashley holding her card.

And here is Ashley trying to decide if she likes the dress I bought her (she did).  I bought her another dress that she didn't like, I wore it in yesterday's fashion post if you missed it.  I also bought her a pair of black skinny jeans that she loved.

Have a Great Day!  Amy

  1. This is such a cute card, love the image and the two embossing folders go so well together. Don't see where the marker leaked on your image, I am sure one would only notice it if they knew exactly where to look. It's beautiful!

  5. I always love your DIY card posts because you make the most beautiful hand-made cards. Love this one too, probably my favorite I have seen yet. Ashley is beautiful and I bet she was happy. Do you sell these cards on Etsy, Amy?

    1. Thank you! I do have an Etsy shop but I'm not selling anything on it at the moment. It's summer and I'm busy in the garden and do not have time to make cards to sell.
