A Romantic Card to Give to a Man

Making a romantic card to give to a guy can be pretty hard.  After all, how do you share your romantic feelings without the card coming across too feminine for the masculine taste?  Well I did it by using dark colors and papers, and avoiding any 'cute' or 'girly' images.

This is a card I made for my husband for our 28th Wedding Anniversary.

You will never believe where these papers are from:  DCWV "The Immortal Love".  The papers were inspired by the "Twilight" books and movies that I never read or saw. When I bought these papers the movies were popular and the cashier thought I was a little coo-coo for purchasing them.  I said "What?  They'll make great papers for anniversary or love cards!"  And they do!

To make my card I used a sketch from Our Daily Bread and a sentiment stamp from MFT.  I hand cut the heart out of the same paper stack and popped it up on dimensionals.  The only other embellishment I used was the ribbon;  although I did put a tad of black glitter glue on the hearts in the sentiment.

All the shapes on the card were cut with Spellbinder's Nestabilities.

My husband absolutely loved his card and took it to work to keep displayed on his desk.  WIN!

Have a great day!  Amy

  1. Great card! I agree it's hard to make a romantic masculine card. But you pulled it off with the beautiful sentiment and heart! My husband usually gets something with cute animals like the recent "I just love you" card I had posted on my blog :-) Glad to read I am not the only one who hasn't watched or read Twilight. I thought I was the only one.
