More Cookbooks

Many of you might remember when I featured this cute blue and white cookbook in an earlier post. The inside has four pockets/tabs that are stamped with cute sentiments, and there are ten 4 x 6 index cards in each section for writing recipes. See the earlier post if you want to see pictures of the inside of the cookbooks.

Anyway, every year at my Johnson Annual Christmas Party, I give each lady in attendance a gift. Last year I gave away home -made cards and a home -made calender. This year, I gave away these recipe books. I originally wanted to make them all the same, but I had to make thirteen of them and quickly ran out of designer paper and ribbon. So I had to get creative, and make them all different.

The first one is very similar to the blue book in style, but its red. I used the 'Argyle' Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on the Riding Hood Red panel. The ribbon has cherries on it, and the designer paper looks like a tablecloth. Don't you just love all the fun colors the Bind-It-All wires come in now too? The images are a combination of See D's and Stampendous and are stamped on Naturals Ivory cardstock.

My next recipe book is a Holiday Recipe Book. The Hunter Green Panel is embossed with the Christmas Ornaments Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The ribbon says 'Merry Christmas' on it. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye. The images are a combination of Stampendous and Stampin Up!'s retired set 'Gingerbread Christmas'. I sponged the edges of the Natural's Ivory panel with Antique Distress Linen Ink.
The third new cookbook uses an unknown designer paper I picked up at my local scrapbooking store. The Riding Hood Red panel is also embossed with the 'Argyle' Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The images were stamped on Naturals Ivory and are from See D's. Ribbon and square brads were added for embellishment.

The pink cookbook is a fun one! The designer paper is very glittery in real life and is from DCVW 'The Sweet Stack'. The Pink Passion panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' Embossing Folder. The images are from Stampendous and Hero Arts. I put Crystal Effects on the cherry on the cupcake. Notice the pretty pink wire used on this book?

My final book uses more unknown designer paper from my local scrapbooking store. The ribbon has pictures of a bowl of cherries on it and says 'Sweet'. The Riding Hood Red panel is embossed with the 'Argyle' Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The image is from Stampendous.
I think everyone really liked their little books. One woman said she was going to save hers to write her favorite recipes in and give to her daughter someday. I told Ashley, my daughter, that I would do the same for her; except then it'd have to be a much bigger book, because I have lots, and lots of favorite recipes! LOL!
Have a great day! Amy

  8. I'm going to have to comment faster...my Mom always takes my lines! I was going to ask if I could become a Johnson as well. These recipe books are great. I keep all of my "favorites" in a Campbell's tin, but I love this idea even better. Your family sure is lucky to have you!!
