In my 17th Box from Stitch Fix I kept three out of five items: a Calvin Klein Blouse, Red Jeans from Kut from and the Kloth, and the Lavi Leaf Pendant Necklace in this post. This green dress was one of the two items I returned. The main reason? It didn't fit! That rarely happens to me with Stitch Fix. Most of their items fit me like a glove. But something was off in the sizing of this dress. It said Medium on the tag, but it fit more like a Small Petite. It made me wonder if the wrong label was sewn in!
The dress is by 41 Hawthorn and is called "Bogota Dress". I received another 41 Hawthorn size Medium dress in a previous Fix (shown here), and it fit me perfectly. So I don't think the sizing error is a result of the brand.
The dress had some redeeming values: I loved the pretty Emerald Green color, the length, and the crochet neckline.
The second item I received in this Fix was a Towne and Reese "Lava Leaf Pendant" necklace. I LOVED this necklace. The intricate pattern on the leaf was so pretty and I loved the added little stone.
I paired the necklace with a silver and emerald green bracelet (old).
I wanted to bring a second color into this outfit so I didn't look like the Jolly Green Giant so I wore these red wedges from Macy's (No longer available, similar HERE and HERE).
For a handbag, I chose this brown cross body saddle bag to coordinate with the brown strap in the shoes.
The reason I thought this dress was mis-marked and was probably a petite size was because the elastic band came right under my bust instead of my natural waistline. My husband thought maybe that was just the style, but I'm not so sure. It was also snug in the bust and difficult to get on and off. I was lucky I was able to squeeze into it at all for the photo shoot.
