White and Black With A Pop of Gingham: Stitch Fix #17

I received this gorgeous white lace top in my last Fix, Stitch Fix Box #17.  I must admit when I first opened the box and saw the top, I did not think I was going to keep it.  My initial reaction was that it was too old or formal for me.  But yet again, just like in previous Fixes, it was my husband who encouraged me to keep the top.  He thought it would be "really classy with a pair of black pants and heels for a more dressy occasion".  So I took his suggestion and styled the pants with some black skinny ankle pants and black wedges.  Once I saw the photographs, I realized how right he was (Again!) and I kept the top.  I'm starting to think my husband is a better fashion stylist than I am. 🤣  Which is really funny if you met my hubby cause he's a very masculine man who doesn't wear anything but jeans and t-shirts himself.  I think his fashion wisdom comes from years of being my personal photographer.  He just knows what looks good on me!

The top is a Calvin Klein Suit Separate and is called Haesel Lace Detail Bell Sleeve Blouse.

A lot of you have mentioned how much you like the "scarves" I wear in my hair.  They are actually fabric headbands.  It's all the rage right now to tie a scarf in your hair, but I find the fabric headbands so much easier to deal with.  They don't loosen or move throughout the day like a scarf does.  I have probably a dozen different fabric headbands that I picked up for $1 or $2 at Forever 21 on clearance a few years ago.  They were really back in style back then, now they are not, but scarves are.  But no one can seem to tell that I'm not wearing a scarf, but a headband, so what difference does it make?  I love to wear them in the summer to get my hair off my face and neck.

I absolutely love this top for many reasons. First,  I love white.  Why?  It goes with anything!  It's always clean, fresh, and crisp looking.  Second, the front of the top has two really pretty lace panels.  Third, the bell sleeves!  Aren't they pretty?  And, the sleeves aren't too long so they don't get in my way.  And finally, the fluidity and shape of the top:  I love how it is loose, but not too boxy.  The fabric flows and hangs beautifully.

The sleeves just add so much to the beauty of this top.  I don't think this top would be as pretty without these lovely bell sleeves.

Here you can see how beautifully the top flows as it blows in the breeze.

The back of the top has a keyhole opening with a gold button.  It is solid in the back.  Only the front has lace on it.

Here is a close up of the lace panels.  I wore a coordinating earring necklace set by Liz Claiborne (old).

I carried my gingham cross body bag (also by Liz Claiborne, sold-out, similar HERE).  I just bought it this season, but I couldn't find it anymore on-line.  Gingham is so hot, hot, hot right now!  I haven't purchased any gingham clothing yet, but I enjoy bringing the trend in with accessories like this.

I wore three silver bracelets to coordinate with my silver earrings and necklace.

I have worn this top once already:  to church!  It was a cooler day, so it was the perfect time to wear it.  Only this time I styled it with a pair of hot pink sliders to add more color to the outfit.

This is an Instagram Story Picture.  If I'm leaving the house that day, I always post what I'm currently wearing in my InstaStories.

The shoes look kinda funny in the picture above, so I snagged this picture on-line for you.   They are called Worthington Freemont Women's Mules and are still available at JCPenney.  They come in several different colors, including gingham.  Hmmm, I wonder if I need another pair?

If you missed Friday's Fashion Post,  I shared another item from this Fix that I kept:  Red Pants!  Check back for future fashion posts every Monday and Friday to see what I kept and what I returned from Stitch Fix #17!

Have  a Great Day!  Amy

    1. Ashley, you are so right! I think in every Fix I ever received when I opened the box I didn't keep the items I thought I was going to keep and then kept the items I didn't think I would keep! That's why I love Stitch Fix, because it forces you to try things on. Things I would bypass in the store!

  8. My husband sometimes helps me too with some suggestions, but not often! Ha! I should try some fabric headbands, because the other kind give me headaches. I just love this delicate top, so pretty. That bag is so cute!
