Stitch Fix #16: Scalloped Skirt

Stitch Fix can be sooooo hard sometimes!  I love to receive Fix's.  It's like getting a present every single month.  I love the excitement of not knowing what's inside, and trying on clothes I may never have even taken a second look at in the store.  I love that this midwestern country girl can have access to brands and styles that aren't available in my small town stores.  What I don't love?  The pain of having to send clothes back I LOVE!!!!!

I received this adorable scalloped hem black pencil skirt in my sixteenth Fix.  I absolutely LOVED it.  I thought the scalloped hem detail was so cute!  And it fit me like a glove.  The problem?  I already own a little black skirt and I just couldn't justify keeping it just because this one has scallops.  Now, if it came in any other color, you betcha I would have kept it!

For photography purposes only, I styled the skirt with a teal halter from JCP (old, previously shown HERE), a black straw hat, black sandals, and yellow statement earrings.

Here are some close ups of the scalloped hems.  Is that not the cutest detail ever?  Even the pockets have scallops.

I carried the jewelry theme down by wearing yellow, black, and gold bracelets.  The black handbag is by Liz Claiborne.

If you really like this skirt and you want to ask for it in your next Stitch Fix box the name is "Berenice Scallop Hem Skirt" by Skies Are Blue

It was so hard to part with this skirt!  In fact, that's the hardest thing for me with all my Fixes.  If I could keep everything ever month, I would.  Especially since you get a 25% discount if you keep it all.  But I rarely get a Fix where I love everything in my Fix, so I haven't done that too often.  This Fix I received three items I really, really wanted to keep...this skirt being one of them.  Another item I did keep (that post is coming soon!) and another I would have kept had it not been so darn expensive!

Have a Great Day!  Amy

  1. Such a shame because you look so lovely, Amy. How about styling your own LBS in exactly the same way because this really is top-to-toe cute! Hugs, x.

    1. Thank you. As is typical of most of my Fixes, I'm really regretting sending this skirt back. I wish I had more time to decide and get everyone's feedback.

  2. I know exactly what you mean. I already have so much in my closets, that I try to only purchase things I don't already have!!

    1. Thank you! Yes, I know, I try to do the same thing, but something better, yet similiar comes along, and I'm so tempted!

  3. What willpower you have exhibited in sending back some great pieces. I know they can be a little pricey in a Stitch Fix box but they are generally unique and not something you see on everyone at the mall. Love this skirt on you. And the JCP top you styled it with. Bravo, though, for having the strength to part with it if it wasn't exactly what you wanted.

    1. I don't know if it's willpower or common sense. I can't possibly afford to keep everything, so I have to be very particular and analytical when choosing what to keep.

  6. Too bad you couldn't keep it. A black skirt can last for years. I have a couple with different silhouettes and have had each of them for years!

    1. Oh Ruth, you really made me regret sending this skirt back. Maybe I should PM you on Instagram pics of my next Fix so you can give me some input into what to keep and what to send back. I keep making the wrong decisions!
