The lighting and colors were just beautiful for a fall fashion photo shoot!
I bought this gorgeous brown fur vest at Macy's last year. I got it for only $19.99 because we went shopping the night before Thanksgiving and all the prices were reflecting Black Friday sales already.
My cognac boots I picked up on clearance at J.C. Penney two seasons ago for only $19.97. Buying items at the end of a season can be risky because you can't be sure they will be in style next year. But would you believe that they are not only still in style, but also still for sale? Unfortunately, they cost a lot more than what I paid for them.
Because we were traveling and hiking a bit, I carried an old beige cross body bag from J.C. Penney.
I also wore a silver, copper, gold bracelet on my wrist.
For a necklace, I wore a multi-strand brown pendant.
My black, straight leg jeans are by St. John's Bay.
I've shown this vest to you before in this post HERE. There I wore it with a thin long sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans, and suede wedges.
Because I knew I'd be doing a bit of hiking today I wanted to dress in layers, so this time I chose a dark tank top, a tan button down shirt, and tall flat boots. I ended up getting pretty hot later in the day hiking up a bluff, so everything came off except the tank top! :)
Faux Fur Vest - No Longer Available, similar HERE, St. John's Bay Black Denim Straight Leg Pants - J.C. Penney HERE, Arizona Dakota Riding Boots - J.C. Penney HERE, and Beige Crossbody Bag - No Longer Available, similar HERE.
I'll share more about this special park and waterfall in a future travel/lifestyle post.
Have a Great Day! Amy

You always have the best scenery - you're so lucky to live in such a gorgeous place!!!ReplyDelete
Awww, Thanks Shauna. I always struggle with where to take pictures....I want something interesting, but I hate it when people gawk at me when were doing a photo shoot.Delete
How fun to be able to do a fashion post at such a pretty location! I have to say I get pretty tired of pics of me on my front porch and wish for a more scenic background. Since I usually post what I wore to work, that will have to do for now. You definitely look ready for some Fall activities in this outfit my friend. :)ReplyDelete
Yes, it was fun. Almost impossible to take a bad picture with those views and lighting. I don't work outside the home, so I'm never dressed up except when I go to town once a week or we travel...so I have to use travel locations as my backdrops.Delete
Wonderful pictures. I love fall. I really miss fall so I love look at pictures like yours. The vest is great. I love the color and the different details - the fur in the front and knit on the back. Thank you for linking up with My Red Carpet.ReplyDelete
Thanks Anna, the beauty of this season is so short, we are out experiencing every minute of it while we can. Pretty soon it'll be nothing but bare branches and ugly brown.Delete
What a beautiful spot - the sunlight in the trees is lovely :) Your layered outfit is great too! I always feel I struggle a little with layering, I never look this good! :)ReplyDelete
Hope you're having a great week :)
Away From The Blue Blog
Thanks Mica, I actually struggle with layering too because I feel it adds a lot of extra pounds, so I try to stick with thinner fabrics/layers.Delete
Great look and what great buys! I want a fur vest, but not sure I'll ever need one here in Alabama. LOLReplyDelete
Thank you, yes, fur vests are very warm, I actually think too warm! I don't think they'd be very practical for warmer climates.Delete
I literally just blogged yesterday about how I need a fur vest just for fun (to fuel the fire of love I've only just recently discovered for vests), and this one would be perfect! Maybe I'll have to start shopping around for one similar.ReplyDelete
Oh, and lovely photos! Who wouldn't want to pull over and take pictures there?
Thanks Torrie. You know, it took awhile for vests, especially fur vests, to grow on me. But once I bought one, I couldn't stop. Good luck on your search!Delete
Beautiful photos! Love your fall layers, especially that vest!ReplyDelete
Vests are fun to wear! Such a great layering piece for Fall! I The sunlight and tree are beautiful!ReplyDelete
Thanks Ruth, hard to take a bad picture here!Delete
Such a wonderful spot for gorgeous photos, Amy! You guys take the best traveling adventures. I really like the color of your fur vest and how you have styled it with your jeans and riding boots. Perfect fall look!ReplyDelete
Thank you. We try to stay active in our "old age".Delete
So lovely Amy!! My fur vest is a sweater on the back too---I really like that feature, because it's not as bulky!!ReplyDelete
I could totally recreate this look---thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks Jodie! I so agree. Fur vests can add a lot of extra bulk.Delete
Perfect Autumn look Amy! Beautiful vest and amazing photos.ReplyDelete
Thanks so much!Delete
Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style.ReplyDelete
Those are adorable boots!! I wish they were still on as good of a sale as they were when you bought them! Thanks for sharing at the Grace + Lace Linkup!ReplyDelete
Love the vest! And what gorgeous scenery! I am missing fall like this here in OK. Sounds like a great drive.ReplyDelete
Straight A Style
Thanks Amy, we get nice fall foliage here, but it gets cold fast. At least it's warmer in OK.Delete
