Brown Fur Vest Outfit

This past weekend my husband and I went to a conference up in the Twin Cities.  When we headed home we decided to take a scenic route to see the fall colors.  We stopped in Vermillion Falls Park, Minnesota to see a waterfall my husband read about, but we also discovered these gorgeous fall trees!

The lighting and colors were just beautiful for a fall fashion photo shoot!

I bought this gorgeous brown fur vest at Macy's last year.  I got it for only $19.99 because we went shopping the night before Thanksgiving and all the prices were reflecting Black Friday sales already.

I love this vest because it's fur in the front and a cable knit sweater in the back.  It is also lined in the front with a beautiful beige sateen lining.

My cognac boots I picked up on clearance at J.C. Penney two seasons ago for only $19.97.  Buying items at the end of a season can be risky because you can't be sure they will be in style next year.  But  would you believe that they are not only still in style, but also still for sale?  Unfortunately, they cost a lot more than what I paid for them.

Because we were traveling and hiking a bit, I carried an old beige cross body bag from J.C. Penney.
I also wore a silver, copper, gold bracelet on my wrist.

For a necklace, I wore a multi-strand brown pendant.

My black, straight leg jeans are by St. John's Bay.

I've shown this vest to you before in this post HERE.  There I wore it with a thin long sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans, and suede wedges.

Because I knew I'd be doing a bit of hiking today I wanted to dress in layers, so this time I chose a dark tank top, a tan button down shirt, and tall flat boots.  I ended up getting pretty hot later in the day hiking up a bluff, so everything came off except the tank top! :)

I'll share more about this special park and waterfall in a future travel/lifestyle post.

Have a Great Day!  Amy

    1. Awww, Thanks Shauna. I always struggle with where to take pictures....I want something interesting, but I hate it when people gawk at me when were doing a photo shoot.

  2. How fun to be able to do a fashion post at such a pretty location! I have to say I get pretty tired of pics of me on my front porch and wish for a more scenic background. Since I usually post what I wore to work, that will have to do for now. You definitely look ready for some Fall activities in this outfit my friend. :)

    1. Yes, it was fun. Almost impossible to take a bad picture with those views and lighting. I don't work outside the home, so I'm never dressed up except when I go to town once a week or we travel...so I have to use travel locations as my backdrops.

    1. Thanks Anna, the beauty of this season is so short, we are out experiencing every minute of it while we can. Pretty soon it'll be nothing but bare branches and ugly brown.

    1. Thanks Mica, I actually struggle with layering too because I feel it adds a lot of extra pounds, so I try to stick with thinner fabrics/layers.

    1. Thank you, yes, fur vests are very warm, I actually think too warm! I don't think they'd be very practical for warmer climates.

  6. I literally just blogged yesterday about how I need a fur vest just for fun (to fuel the fire of love I've only just recently discovered for vests), and this one would be perfect! Maybe I'll have to start shopping around for one similar.

Oh, and lovely photos! Who wouldn't want to pull over and take pictures there?

    1. Thanks Torrie. You know, it took awhile for vests, especially fur vests, to grow on me. But once I bought one, I couldn't stop. Good luck on your search!

    1. Thanks Amy, we get nice fall foliage here, but it gets cold fast. At least it's warmer in OK.
