Fashion Over Fifty: Black & White

Today's outfit features a skirt that I've shown you numerous times before because, I just love it so much I wear it a lot!  I received it from Stitch Fix over a year ago.    I first wore it on vacation to St. Louis HERE,  then to church with sneakers and a tee HERE, and just recently with a black tee HERE.  So I definitely got my money's worth out of this skirt because it has seen a lot of wear!  I just love the jersey knit fabric, it is so cool and comfortable!

Every time I wear it, I pair it with black and white.  I know, I know, many of you have told me to try it with a colorful top, but every time I do I just don't like it.  I do wear a different black or white shirt every time though, so you have to give me credit for that!

These photographs were all taken outside a beautiful mega church in Orlando when we visited Florida a few weeks ago.  What a perfect backdrop for pictures!

I carried my white cross body bag by Wilson's Leather that my husband bought me when we were on vacation in Colorado last spring.  For jewelry I just wore a blue watch, a crystal bracelet, and silver drop earrings.  I didn't wear a necklace because there is crystal beading in my white tank around the neck line, and I didn't want the two competing.

The silver ring is from Pandora and was a Christmas gift from my husband.

For footwear, I chose a pair of flat, yet dressy, black sandals (old).

I know many other fashion bloggers have already started posting fall outfits already, but I'm just not ready to go there yet.  Our winters last so long in Wisconsin, that when the other bloggers are posting cute skirts and heels  in the spring, I'm still going to be posting sweaters and tall boots.  So I will keep posting warm weather outfits as long as I can.  I may, however, do a 'Fall Wish List' post; we'll see.

Have a great day! Amy

  1. Amy, your outfit is darling! The solid top actually makes it look like a dress. I am with you on no fall fashion yet. It will be 90 degrees in Atlanta today and I can't even think about a sweater ;-)

    Enjoy your long weekend!

  2. You always put together such stylish and on-trend outfits Amy. Love this one since it is all black+white and houndstooth is one of my most favorite patterns, too.
