Paper Flowers

Saturday was World Card Making Day and Splitcoaststampers.com had a lot of great challenges in honor of the holiday. One of the challenges was 'Nested Flowers' by Suzy_H. To make a nested flower, you simply cut 5 circles, any size, making each circle smaller than the first so that they 'nest'; then just pierce thru all 5 layers and attach a brad to hold them together. My flower is made of designer paper, but you can use anything: fabric, tulle, mesh, velvet, felt, ribbon, lace, etc. There were some really beautiful cards made with fabric on the Splitcoaststampers gallery, but I was too busy and behind on too many projects to go to that extreme, so I just did a simple paper flower.
My background designer paper is Basic Grey, which is adhered to Stampin Up! 'Sage Shadow' cardstock. The yellow panel and paper flower are unknown designer papers. I used a pair of little scissors to create a fringe on all my flower layers, then I curled them slightly with my fingers. I then stamped a stem using the Stampin Up! 'Live Like You Mean It' set, tied a pink ribbon around the card, and added my sentiment from Stampin Up! 'For a Friend' set, which was mounted up on dimensionals.
Thats all for today. I hope you have a chance to make a paper flower today! Amy
