Licensed to Drive!

My handsome son just got his driver's license in September, so I made a scrapbook page in honor of this event. I started with a plain piece of 12 x 12 dark grey cardstock for my base. I used a piece of designer paper from the 'Urban Youth' collection from 'Me and My Big Ideas'. The light grey piece of paper was ran thru my cuttlebug with the 'Distressed Stripes' embossing folder. The title and city sign die cuts are from Cuttlebug. I sponged the edges of the word 'Licensed' and the white panel with black ink. The car and 'beep' sentiment are from the retired Stampin Up! set 'By Land'. I highlighted the 5 x 7 photo by mounting it on black cardstock and leaving the other two photos unmounted. The sketch is by Sally Salster of Splitcoaststampers.com.
Life has been a little bit easier on us now that Jordan has his license. Some of you know that we live way out in the country, about 12 miles from the nearest small town, 38 miles from the nearest city, and about 2 hours from St. Paul/Minneapolis. So needless to say, I've been 'living' in my car the past 8 years with my kids, since many of their events are 38 miles away from home. I still drive Jordan to the city, I just don't feel comfortable with him driving that far alone yet, but at least now he can drive himself to all his school events.
Till tomorrow, Amy
