How To Decorate A Metal Tier Tray And A Dining Room With A Lemon Theme

Once Easter was over, it was time to re-decorate my metal tiered tray for summer (if you missed my Easter tray, you can see it HERE!).   I love these tiered trays!  They are so much fun and so easy to decorate for all the seasons/holidays at minimal expense and time.  Who doesn't want that in this age of minimalist lifestyle trends?

The first thing one needs to do before decorating a tiered tray is to pick a theme.  The theme should coordinate with the current season or holiday.  I decided to do a lemon theme because I have a blue, white, and yellow kitchen right off the dining room where the tray will sit on the table.  Plus, it's pretty easy to find lots of lemon decor as lemons are really trending in home decor right now.

I found most of my items, like this cute little sign, at Walmart.  I bought the lemon picks from Hobby Lobby, one pot is from the Target Dollar Spot, everything else I already owned.

The metal tin flower vase with the forsythia flowers and cute gingham ribbon is from Walmart.  I used ivy from my stash to fill in all the bare spots.  It's always important to use a filler when designing a tier tray.  For my Easter Tray, I used grass as my filler.

The ceramic bird I picked up at The Dollar Store years ago.

I echoed the lemon and bird theme around the dining room, by putting lots of lemon and bird plates on the plate rail.

The little black and white striped terra cotta pot is the one item I purchased at the Target Dollar Spot. The yellow coffee mug was from my stash.  Both the pot and the mug were filled with pieces of ivy and white flowers also from my stash.

Above the piano on the plate rail,  I added a lemon plate and a yellow plate.  They carry the design from the table to the wall unifying the theme throughout the room.

I put another lemon plate on top of the china hutch with a yellow bird plate on the plate rail above.  Again, the yellow was carried from the table, to the hutch (lemons), to the wall above (goldfinch plate).  A blue and white tea pot from my tea pot collection was added to coordinate with the blue in the plate and in the vase of the floral arrangement.

A close up of the plates above the piano.  Most of the plates I purchased at Home Goods, but the goldfinch plate I got from Hobby Lobby.  They are all very inexpensive plates costing less than $3.99 each.

I hope you enjoyed my lemon tiered tray and other lemon decor.

Have A Great Day!  Amy

    1. Wow! I never thought of a farm theme. That would work great in my neck of the woods. I'll have to keep that in mind. I checked The Dollar Tree numerous times and never found anything there, bummer!

  11. Perfection, my friend. I saw some lemon/lemonade decorations at Walmart and thought they were so refreshing. I am taking Easter down today, if I can get off the couch. Not going to happen from here.
