I received this pretty light cotton pastel stripe button down in my April box from Stitch Fix. I've already shown you four other pieces from that box, a Faux Wrap Dress, Light Blue Pants and an Embroidered Top, and a clutch which I am also featuring in this post.
In addition to the thin, lightweight material, I really liked the vertical stripes (I'm not a fan of horizontal stripes) and colors. It's also a very wide, loose fitting top, which I like for summer. I think a looser fit is cooler in the summer, rather than something form fitting touching my skin. I can always tie it or tuck it in like my stylist suggested if I want a tighter fit.
I paired my top with the peachy/pink clutch from Sole Society I also received in this Fix, and a pair of embroidered jeans and open toe booties (old). Underneath the button down top, I wore a Calvin Klein white shell top that I received from a previous Fix.
I had a lot of fun playing with my new footstool in my new living room for this photo shoot, but you guys, I think this foot stool is going to end my 31+ year marriage. 🤣 My husband just hates it. I can't believe what strong feelings he has about it, totally out of character for him. I said "I will keep it until YOU find a better one." I love the footstool; I felt the chair was already so traditional, and I wanted to add something fun and contemporary to balance it out. BUT, more on that when I do my big "Living Room Reveal" post, which I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever be posted as I'm still looking for a few more finishing pieces. Patience, patience!
Be sure to come back Monday for a review of my entire box from Stitch Fix and find out which items I kept and which ones I sent back. Also, I will have the result of my Stitch Fix Instagram Poll too! It was much more positive than my last poll.

DeleteHow funny about the footstool :) :) Maybe he'll grow to love it! Or maybe figure out what he hates about it, you could always cover it up with a different fabric...
ReplyDeleteSuch a great look! Love how you styled the button down shirt as a cover up for the sleeveless shirt. And the colors go so well with the embroidery on the jeans! Perfect for spring and summer!
Thanks Ellie! He thinks the ottoman looks like a soccer ball. I like it white, but if it ever gets dirty, I could try recovering it. That's a great idea.
DeleteI think using your button down as a as a cover up is a wonderful idea. I like doing the same with my button ups too. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's very versatile. Yesterday I wore it tied in a knot.
DeleteLol! I love that footstool! I really like how you styled the shirt open. It reminds me of one of my stripes shirts I bought this year that I should wear more often: I will make a point to wear it next week. Those jeans are really cute with the details! Great job styling this! I love it from head to toe!

Thank you. Yes, you have so many lovely kimonos. I have several, but never feel quite comfortable wearing them. I always feel like I'm wearing my bathrobe outside. :)
