Another Olive Green Utility Jacket

I am pressing on with my Spring Jacket Series today and I have yet another Olive Green Utility Jacket to show you.  This is a different jacket than the one I wore in last week's fashion post.

The jacket I showed you in my last Spring Jacket Post, was more of a cargo jacket...big, baggy, with a hood and lots of drawstrings.  This jacket has more of a fitted fit, is very thin, and I like to think of it more of a blazer than a jacket.

It has an elastic waist, so it's form fitting and flattering to the figure.  I picked it up at Dress Barn years ago.

I paired my jacket with an old striped dress from J.C. Penney.  When I wore this outfit and planned it for this week's post, I had no idea I would see so many other striped dresses and olive green jackets posts out there last year.  Trust me, I'm not copying anyone.  I had this outfit photographed and ready to go a week ago.  Great minds think alike I guess!  All us fashion bloggers have been on the same page this week.

I accessorized my outfit with a mustard yellow bag (old) to bring in some color, a black hat (one of my 97 cents finds from J.C. Penney), gold and black bracelets, and a colorful stone necklace.

In addition to the flattering elastic waist, the jacket also has some fun diagonal zipper pockets and interesting brass buttons.

The thin material provides just the right amount of extra warmth I need in the spring, without the bulk.

I did get some new shoes!  DSW sent me a $20.00 off coupon, so of course I had to use it!  I bought these cute black suede lace up sandals and a yellow pair of flip flops that I will show you when the weather warms up a bit more.

I love these sandals!  They are so comfy, and the best part is that they have a zipper behind the ankle so they are easy to take on and off.  I don't have to untie and retie them every time!

Are your lilacs in bloom yet?  I have several lilac bushes in my yard, and this one was the first one to bloom.  I love lilacs!  Their fragrance is heavenly!

I said in my last fashion post how happy I was to have something new blooming in my yard every week so I didn't have to hunt for an interesting spot to take photos.  I just step right outside my front door!

Only two more jackets to show you, and my Spring Jacket Series will be finished!  Yeah!  I'm looking forward to some warm weather where I won't be needing to wear a jacket anymore.   It's gotten quite chilly again here in Wisconsin.

Have a Great Day!  Amy

  1. So funny that you saw so many other posts with stripes and utility jackets. Last weekend, I wore a black and white striped tee shirt dress with an olive cardigan and olive Converse (posted on my IG). I guess great minds really do think alike! I love this look. Casual with a little bit of oomph! Perfect!
