A Couple of Valentines for Scripture Challenge Word #52

The word 'Love' is the last word of Patter Cross' Scripture Challenge for the 2007/08 year, so I decided to do a couple of Valentine Cards to celebrate God's love for us. Both cards contain images of children for a reason: Jesus said 'We must become like children' to accept His love. I always found that statement of His so profound, for only children love so openly, willingly, and with so much faith.
The first card using the sketch and color challenges on Paper Craft Planet. The image is from the retired Stampin Up! set 'From the Heart'. The cardstock colors are Baja Breeze, white, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink, and Riding Hood Red. The Baja Breeze panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder, and the hearts are cut with a Cuttlebug Die. The image was colored with copics. This card will be sent to a little girl in a hospital who is suffering with cancer.
The second card is for this week's Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com. JulieHRR was the talented stamper featured this week, and her original card can be seen here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/779930. I kept the same layout, but changed the paper, ribbon, and stamp set. This stamp set is one of my all-time favorite Stampin Up! Sets: 'Vintage Valentines'; because you know me, I love anything vintage! The cardstock is white and Riding Hood Red and the Designer Paper is Stampin Up! 'Friends and Flowers'. The image is colored with Copic Markers and mounted up on dimensionals. I punched a little hole through the designer paper so the card recipient could see the heart underneath.
This week Patter Cross started a new Scripture Challenge on her blog 'Triple the Scraps'. Its called the 'His Holy Name' Challenge. Just like in last years challenge, every two weeks Patter will give us a word and we have to find scripture to go with that word, except this time we will be making a 6 x 6 scrapbook page, and at the end of the year we'll have a beautiful book filled with all the wonderful attributes of God to grace our coffee tables or give away as a gift. I'm so excited to begin! If you'd like to join us, the very first challenge word is 'Holy'.
Have a great day! Amy
