Pretty In Florals

This is a new floral top I purchased from  JCPenney before I left for my Myrtle Beach Vacation.  I saw it on their website and thought it was perfect for my body type.  However, I ordered my usual size Medium and I feel it's a little too big in the stomach area.  I already cut the tags off so I can't return it.  I looked at the construction of the top and I think I can open up the seems and cut the extra fabric out and make it a little smaller.  When I will do that, I have no idea as spring garden season is here and I am super busy.  So I might just wear it as is.  What do you think?  Fix it or leave it?

The top is by Liz Claiborne (my favorite JCP designer).  I paired it with my grey jeans, pink clutch, and nude sandals.

I picked up these new grey jeans this season;  they are also by Liz (like I said, she's my favorite!).

My nude wedge pumps are old (Nine West).

The pink handbag is from Charming Charlie's and was a gift from my daughter.

Here is a closeup of the print on the blouse and the pretty yoke neckline.  The top is sheer (aren't they all these days?) so I wore a lace camisole underneath.  I really like this watercolor floral print.

Both the top and the jeans are sold out on the JCP website.  I did find a similar top HERE.

Have a Great Day!  Amy

  1. It really is a pretty look. I wish spring would arrive for us in the UK. I'm dressing drab sadly.

    1. Thank you. Spring takes awhile to get here in Wisconsin as well. Hoping you'll receive warmer weather soon!

  2. This is such a great Spring look, Amy! I like my tops loose, but I think you could bring it in a bit if that's your preference. Thanks for linking up, xo

  3. I can see your point Amy! I don't mind my tops a tad loose, but right now I don't need that extra material in the front either. So I'd probably cut it out...it probably won't take that long, right?

    1. Oh, I'm still undecided. It seems everyone else is saying the opposite. I like the idea of it being cooler in the summer if it's looser.

  4. Love the watercolor look of the flowers! Reminds me of some floral Penny Black stamps :)
Not sure I would go through the work of opening up seams. It looks nice on you as it is. I have the problem with sizing at JCP too (with some of their clothes), but I can only go down to XS and that size is not always available. Then being short on top of that, buying dresses is a nightmare as they always seem to be too long...I did find some really cute clothes at Kohl's yesterday in the Juniors department.

    1. Thanks Elli, I thought the same thing about the print. You are so right about sizing. With vanity sizing today, it's hard to find items in smaller sizes without resorting to the Juniors Department. But then I don't like a lot of the styles/cuts there. Ugh! I never shop Kohls. Probably because they are not in the mall and I don't like to make the extra stop to a separate store.

  6. Such a pretty pattern, it says Spring. If you don't have time to take it in, you'll probably find it's nice and cool when the sun starts baking. And what clever wedges, so unusual. Lovely fresh outfit.

  9. I am not a fan of "flowy" tops on my physique. But when I get one that I want to wear anyway, I do the 1/2 tuck in front and it solves my problem. Have you tried that?
It is a nice bright springy print!

    1. Thanks Nikki! I do the 1/2 tuck in look occasionally. I've never really been a fan of that look on me, although I admire those women who pull it off perfectly!

    1. Thanks Jess! They are actually a steely grey jean, the lighting seemed to affect the color of the pants in the photos.
