A Mother's Day Outfit

Happy early Mother's Day everyone!  This year, I won't be with my kiddos on Mother's Day as they live in Florida now,  but I will see them the weekend after Mother's Day.  Ashley and Jordan are flying to Chicago for their first music gig together, so my husband and I will drive there to meet up with them and see their performance.  It's Jordan's first time flying and he is a nervous wreck.  It's so funny!  I had no idea he was so afraid to fly.  But he will have his sister with him showing him the ropes....Ashley is a very experienced traveler.  I'll let you know how everything went in a future travel or lifestyle post.

In the meantime, I wanted to post something for Mother's Day so I'm sharing an old outfit I wore while in Florida.  I think it's a fabulous outfit to wear for the holiday.  Such a difference from the Mother's Day outfit I wore last year.  Do you remember?  I wore black leather!  It was a riot!  You can see that post HERE if you missed it.  It was quite a popular post.

Everything I have on except the cross body bag belongs to Ashley.  I fell in love with this skirt so much, I asked her if I could borrow it.  I've actually shown it to you before in THIS POST where I styled it for winter.

I paired the skirt with a silver top of Ashleys'.  I love the metallic sheen, the texture,  and the cut of the neckline.

The shoes are vintage, aren't they just gorgeous?  But boy do they hurt!  Ouch hurt!  I could barely stand to have them on for photographs.  How did women ever walk in these?

To keep with the vintage theme, I added a antique choker  and bracelet of Ashely's for my accessories.

Isn't this bracelet just gorgeous?  And can you see the interesting texture in the silver top?

The metallic silver cross-body  I use it all the time when I travel.

I felt like a princess wearing this outfit.   It is so different from my normal casual clothing style.  But that's good,  every woman needs to feel like a princess once in awhile.

And then there were times during this photo shoot that I felt like Marilyn Monroe because the wind kept blowing my skirt up!  It did give us some great photos though, despite the nuisance.

And what would a Mother's Day post be without some pictures of my kids.  We didn't have anyone available to take a picture of us together (sniff, sniff), but I can share some photos I took of my daughter Ashley at the same location.

Isn't she gorgeous?  She is wearing a gold bow tie top and slim fitting jeans.  I love how the jeans dress down the fancy top.

Because of the bow in the top, she only wore a gold bracelet for jewelry.

Ashley started her own blog now where she talks about pertinent issues related to music, her own life experiences as a musician,  and current issues for Christian's today.  She also shares some of her music there.   You can find her blog HERE.

And finally, here are my other kiddos:  my son Jordan and my son-in-law Jason.  This candid shot was taken at Jordan's first paid music gig.  He was so happy that night, and we were so proud of him.

Have a Happy Mother's Day!  Amy

  3. Such a pretty outfit! The skirt is gorgeous and looks amazing with the top! The shoes do look really pretty, but they look so narrow, I can imagine that they must hurt your feet.
Happy Mother's Day to you, too!
