Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas

Valentine's Day is less than two weeks away and I still have absolutely no idea what I'm going to wear.  My husband and I have tickets to see the musical "Newsies" in the twin cities.  I can hardly wait!  I have been dying to see that show.  We also got a hotel room in the cities for the night because the next morning I will be going to FLORIDA to see my babies!!!!!  I'm excited, but nervous.  It has been a long, long time since I've flown by myself, like over 20 years long!  The flight there shouldn't be too bad, but on the way home I have to change planes in Atlanta!  Yikes!  Someone help me!

Since I have no fashion pictures to show you due to my husband being very ill with the flu last week (he was not a very cooperative photographer, so I gave up),  I decided to just do an idea post.

Now even though I know exactly WHAT I'm doing for Valentine's Day, I have no idea what the weather will be.  Last year the weather really threw my Valentine's Day outfit plans for a loop!  It was bitter, bitter cold...the coldest day of the year in fact!  You can read about that HERE if you missed that post.

This is the outfit I ended up wearing:  a top with non-traditional blue hearts!

This year because we're going to a musical, I know it will involve a lot of walking from the parking structure to the theatre building.  So high heels and dresses might not work if it's cold and snowy.  But a girl can still dream, can't she?  Here's some Valentine Day outfits I really like!

I love this Farrah Solid Shirt Dress from Francesca's.  Except in my climate, I'd have to wear it with black tights/leggings and tall black boots.

If red isn't your thing, what about this romantic Terrace Midi Dress from Anthropologie?  Again, I couldn't have my arms bare in my climate and I would have to wear a cardigan, shrug, cape, or blazer with it, along with tights and boots;  but isn't it just gorgeous?

Now if your Valentine's Day plans are a lot more casual and you don't even need to dress up, here are some other options:

I adore this sexy top!

And this girl's outfit would be perfect for my neck of the woods:  a long cozy tee with distressed jeans and tall boots.

If wearing a heart on your chest is a bit too much for you, what about your sleeves?

I love this sweatshirt available on Etsy!

So what about you?  Do you have any Valentine plans this year?  What do you plan on wearing?  I'd love to hear from you!

Have a great day!  Amy

  3. Love your outfit, especially the jacket.

I know what you mean about flying! I hate it too - I have an 11 hour flight from London to Los Angeles next week, and I'm already dreading it (at least my daughter will be with me!)

Thanks for taking part in the link-up

  7. Loved your outfit from last year! I am sure you'll find the perfect outfit for this year too. You definitely have a fun day planned this Valentine's day. I'm sure your flights will be just fine, at least you won't have to find your way in a country of which language you don't speak well, like my brother has to when he comes to visit me :-)
