One Outfit, Two Pairs of Shoes

I love fashion, but at the end of the day, it's really all about comfort for me.  I may think an outfit looks great with a killer pair of heels, but if I can't function or walk in them, I'll always choose the flats instead.  Many times, especially when traveling, I'll have two pairs of shoes with me.  One, a fashionable pair (like heels), and the other a practical pair for walking.

What I love about the flats I have on in today's post, is that the shoes are scrunchy therefore making them portable.  You can easily fit them in your handbag, and switch out your heels for flats in a heartbeat.  I bought them at Payless last year.  This specific shoe is no longer available, but you can find a similar one HERE.
My shirt you may recognize from THIS POST when I wore it for Valentine's Day.  I bought it from JCP and it is still available HERE.  Last time I wore the top with grey skinnies and a scarf.  This time it stands alone with a simple pair of old boyfriend jeans from Express.

The sun hat is also from JCP and you may remember seeing it in THIS POST when I wore it with a skirt.  When showing repeat items, I always like to offer links to previous posts to show you other ways I've styled the same item.  Many of you have commented how helpful that it is.
I had read that the Colorado sun was quite intense due to the higher elevation.  One can get a burn six times faster in higher altitudes, than in lower ones.  Boy, they weren't kidding!  My husband got so burned on his face and head, he had to slather himself with sunscreen even on the coolest days.  I on the other hand stayed sunburn free thanks to my sun hat and tinted moisturizer with SPF.
I carried the same cross body bag I showed you in my garden wedding outfit post.  It is from Wilson's Leather.  The rest of my accessories included a gold bracelet, double strap watch, sunglasses, a simple gold and pearl necklace,  and rings.
Later that afternoon, I switched out my flats for a pair of strappy sandals with a low heel.  My feet were ready for some air and a bit of a lift.  Sometimes walking in flats can get uncomfortable too, and it feels good to have a bit of arch in your feet.  I know some women who actually say it is more comfortable for them to walk in heels instead of flats.  I find that odd, but, if they have poor arch support, it makes sense.  These shoes are several years old, and I also bought them at Payless.

Have a great day!

  1. Thanks for the post. Love your cute valentine's day shirt very appropriate for this time of year and I also love your strappy shoes. I too need to wear high heels as I have a bit of arch in my feet. Flats can get your feet very sweaty after several hours of wear.

  7. I love your fun top and hat! I can't really wear flats for a long time, my plantar will start flaring up. But I do like the idea of having spare flats for days that I am on my feet all day and want to switch out footwear.

Thank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you Thursday.
