Loving Sheer Tops

Last week I did a fashion post on how to wear sweatshirts during the warmer months.  If you missed it, you can read it HERE.  This week, I'm showing you what I wore under the sweatshirt;  once the temperatures warmed up and I could take the sweatshirt off.

To avoid added bulk, I wore a tight fitting grey camisole (old, Express), and a very sheer sleeveless top (old, JCP), underneath my sweatshirt.

I LOVE sheer tops, and my closet shows it.  I think one quarter or more of my summer closet consists of see- through or partially see-through clothing.  My reason for liking sheer tops is that they provide that extra layer without the bulk.  They also help me dress more modestly in warmer temperatures.  I really don't feel comfortable wearing camisoles in public unless it's like 110 degrees in the shade, then I would throw modesty out the window for the sake of comfort! :)  But, put a sheer top over my cami, and I am both cool, and comfortable with the amount of skin showing.
The Colorado afternoon sun really became quite intense, so the hat came out!
Because we were in vacation-mode when these pictures were taken, I never got a picture of my backside.  One of the interesting things about this shirt, is that it's actually open in the back.  It is only sewn a little past the shoulder area, and then it is split and hemmed.
My boyfriend jeans are also from JCP, by a.n.a.  Metallic shoes are old (Younkers), white cross body bag is from Wilson's Leather.  I wore a silver bracelet from Old Navy and old silver hoop earrings.

Have a great day!  Amy

  8. I had a sheer top almost like this that I got in a clothing swap and then I just recently passed it on to my sister but I love the way you styled yours. Very cute Amy! Looks like a fun outing day, the weather has been insanely hot here though for that.
