These jeans are a brand I never heard of or tried before: Mavi High Rise Kendra Straight Leg Jean. They are pricey (to me anyway) but worth every penny as they are the only jeans I will buy this year and I will wear them every time I reach for a pair of jeans. I absolutely love them! They are super soft and have a stretch to them making them very comfortable to wear. They are high rise, which I need, because they keep everything tucked in instead of hanging over the edge; and I'm really digging the straight leg! I didn't think I'd like anything other than skinnies, but the straight leg still gives the slim silhouette of a skinny jean without the clinginess of a skinny jean. The only drawback to the new pant styles is that they don't show off my cute shoes/booties the way skinny jeans do. Other than that, I'm happy to say goodbye to the skinny jean.
Anyhow, enough talk about jeans, back to the cardigan! Cardigans can be worn over anything, I tend to prefer wearing a cardigan over a tank as I don't like extra bulk on my arms. In this outfit, I'm wearing my cardigan over a white Calvin Klein tank top (also from an old Stitch Fix box). I added a plaid black, white and grey scarf because I'm crazy about scarves! I love the added warmth they provide and I can easily remove them and tuck them in my purse. I kept the neutral theme going throughout the outfit by carrying a black bag and wearing black booties.
And now let's see how the rest of the ladies in the group are styling their cardigans and be sure to link up with us below. You may notice some new faces in our Ageless Style group. We did some restructuring and invited some new ladies to join us. I hope you drop over and say "Hi!".

Love the grey! And I love a gift that keeps on giving! My cardigan today has a similar story as it was new to me but a hand me down from my friend when I help her clean her closet!

Thank you! Reduce & Reuse is the way to go!
DeleteLove your cozy gray cardigan! And the way you styled it with straight leg jeans. $98 is a lot for jeans for me too (funny that I don't mind spending it occasionally on shoes though), but I do love a good quality pair of jeans so I've been looking for the brands I know and trust on eBay, Nordstrom Rack, etc.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had cable TV in many years. Way too many ads and so not worth the cost!
Thank you. I know, I never would have spent that much on clothes when I was younger. But back then, I was more about Quantity and keeping up with the latest trends, so I had to keep the cost of my clothes cheap (That's why Forever 21 is so popular with the younger generation). Now, I really don't need anything except maybe one or two new pieces a season, so I can spend more. And yes, cable is so not worth it. I wish I would have gotten rid of it years ago. We kept it for so long because of the news and sports, but then when sports got so political my husband didn't want to watch them anymore and I found there are so many other ways to get news (podcasts, YouTube, newsletters) I didn't need to get it on cable.
DeleteYour cardigan looks so cosy - definitely a win for you if your daughter didn't want it any more, and I like that scarf with it :) The jeans look like a nice buy as well.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great week :)

Thanks Mica!
DeleteI'm glad you got this cardigan back Amy because it's fabulous. My stance on looking fat in anything has evolved over time. I am what I am, and as long as I'm having fun with my style, that's my goal.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that about Stitch Fix...thanks for the info.

Thanks Jodie! Yes, Stitch Fix is much more than the monthly surprise box now. You can peruse their website and order anything.
DeleteLooks like your cardi is keeping you toasty!! We are still baking down here in Texas. Upper 80s this week. Can tolerate a cardi only in the early morning. Will fall ever arrive?
ReplyDeleteI really like the simplicity of this look. Very classy. The scarf adds a bit of pizzazz but the fit of your jeans is perfect. I am happily embracing my straight leg jeans, too. Not ready to give up my skinnies but had on my straight legs the other day and they were just so comfy.
Yes it is. Oh, I'm sorry. You southern and western ladies are always longing for fall while us Northern gals are usually dreading it because our summers are so short. I still have all my skinnies. I actually put them all up for sale on Poshmark, but so far not a bite. I don't have much luck on Poshmark. I sold a few things, but nothing like what some women do. I won't just toss my skinnies. They cost way too much money and their not totally out of style...yet.
DeleteLooking very nice and what a nice place to take pics.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's just my "neighborhood". I live in the country, it's very beautiful here.
DeleteAmy, I love your cozy cardigan! I'm so glad you picked this for our theme! Jeans are so tough for me to buy (and love). These look fantastic on you!

Thank you! Yes, it was a fun theme, and no one had to buy anything. ha ha! We all have cardigans.
DeleteI feel the same way about the jeans I get from Stitch fix! They are so super soft and comfy too. I have a very similar looking cardigan that I bought in teal and I just love that soft, cozy fabric.
ReplyDeleteYes, what is that about Stitch Fix jeans? How is it even possible? Thanks so much!
DeleteThat cardigan look super cozy and I like how you style it. You look amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteLooks like sweater season will be starting next week here in New England. Or maybe a rain jacket will have to do the trick ...
ReplyDeleteIt's here already in the upper midwest. Summer always ends too soon.
DeleteI really love a cardi that is long like yours! Ha! I had to laugh at why your daughter returned it to you and your thoughts on it. I really love gray for a layering piece, it goes with so much! And, I love Stitch Fix jeans, too! I need to get a box again sometime soon... it has been AGES.

Thanks Carrie, it was a funny story. What's even funnier is that when I bought the cardigan for her I didn't even want to give it to her because I liked it so much. Now I got it back anyway! ha ha!
DeleteOh yes, I am a cardigan girl too.
ReplyDeleteYour cardigan together with the scarf
gives instant chic to your outfit.

Thanks Ann!
DeleteA cardigan is always a must! A fresh one is just as good as an early Christmas present. Yes, it's sweater weather here in the heartland. Leaves are turning and its outdoor evening fires are cozy. As well, as having one to wear while reading a good book too. Lovely post. Adoring the scarf too!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are! Thanks so much!
DeleteI am with you you on the coziness of a cardigan. I'd much rather have a cardigan on then a jacket, although jackets are kind of a must around here as the weather turns. I remember buying Mavi jeans when I was a teen. They were pricey then too but so good, and these look great on you.
ReplyDeletebosbodaciosublog.blogspot.ca
Me too. I have never heard of Mavi jeans before. I can't believe they've been around so long. Thanks so much.
DeleteI started to wear more jackets, but I actually love cardigans much better! Much more warmer and cozier.
ReplyDeleteYes, my feelings exactly!
DeleteI love that you chose the theme of cozy cardigans! I adore them, although I don't have enough. I'm actually on a mission at the moment for a couple. I'd like a black one and a cream / tan one. Fingers crossed I can find then soon!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs

Thank you! Good luck on your cardigan hunting!
DeleteOh I am currently living in comfy cardigans. Love this season.
ReplyDeleteAren't cardigans wonderful? It's like wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket.
DeleteSuch a cozy look, loved this cardigen on you.

Thank you!
DeleteThat cardi looks incredibly cozy and smooshy. The color and length are perfect too - dress and jeans approved.
Deletethanks Daenel!
DeleteYour cardigan is so cozy! I love the texture it has!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat's a great tip about getting jeans from Stitchfix. I only had one Fix but everything fitted beautifully. Love a cozy cardigan! Thanks for linking
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I prefer to buy just what I need instead of ordering a whole box. Then I'm not tempted to keep things I don't need. ha ha! Thanks so much!
DeleteThat is a beautiful cardigan! (Yay for daughter no longer wanting it!) And I love the way you’ve styled it.
