A Bright Yellow Top with Pastel Blue Pants From Stitch Fix

One of the best things about Stitch Fix is that your stylist gives you great suggestions on how to wear the pieces that you never would have thought of yourself.  When I received this pretty yellow top in my May box from Stitch Fix  my stylist suggested I try the top with the light blue pants I received in my April box.  I never would have thought of pairing a bright yellow with a light pastel blue, but it worked, and I love it!

The top is by 41 Hawthorn and is called "Breyson Pleated Detail Blouse".  It's a sheer, sleeveless top. I did not wear a cami under it for the photo shoot, but if I wore it out in public I would.

It has a nice length in the back.  And I like the V neck plus the pleated detail down the front and back.  The pleated detail gives the top a nice, loose, flowing look for summer.

I styled my new Stitch Fix pieces with old pieces from my closet;  like this blue and natural straw bag from DSW and yellow bracelets.

My stylist also suggested I tie the look together with a scarf.  I thought that was a great idea but didn't like a scarf hiding the pretty neckline of the top, so I wore it on my head instead!

Sandals are by Liz Claiborne.

I carried the yellow theme through the outfit with yellow statement earrings.

I love wearing headbands and headscarves in summer.  You are never too old to wear them;  no matter what anyone says.  They are a great accessory for pulling the hair up and away from the face and neck on hot summer days.

It really surprised me how much I liked this color combo and I'm so happy my stylist suggested it!

  2. I love this color combo, just made a card with yellow and blue last night to share later this month :-)
The shirt is such a pretty shade of yellow too! I do think the color blue goes with about any color. I practically live in blue jeans and wear them with any color shirt (besides chambray). I think these pants are the same way and I can see them worn with any color!

    1. Thanks Elle! That's good to know, maybe I will be more bold and try these pants with other colors too. I would normally just wear a white top with pants this color.
