Stitch Fix #20: A Comfortable Maxi Dress For The Summer-to-Fall Transitional Season

I have really exciting new to share with you today:  I KEPT EVERYTHING in my latest Stitch Fix Box #20!!!!!  Yes, finally!  It's been a long time since I've been able to keep everything in my box so I can receive the 25% discount.  Usually there is always one or two things that I don't like, own already, or doesn't fit quite right.  This time, everything was perfect!  My stylist, Kayla, really nailed it!  And what I really loved was how she designed this Fix for the summer-to-fall transitional season. I thought that was very thoughtful of her.

I'm going to show my Stitch Fix Box #20 in two posts.  In this post I will share this gorgeous maxi dress I received and in my next post I will share everything else since it all went together and I was able to wear it in one complete outfit.

I must admit, I peeked at this Fix.  I try not to do that because I like to be surprised, but I couldn't help myself.  I was really disappointed when I saw there was a maxi dress in my box because I own so many already.  However, when I tried it on, it was love at first sight (and feel) and I knew this was not going back.  Ladies, this dress is so soft and comfortable it feels like I'm wearing my nightgown!  I could sleep in this dress!

In the personal note my stylist wrote, she said "As we enter September, I have a Fix filled with transitional pieces to help you navigate the tricky weather of the next several weeks.  Although the temps are still warm in (insert city here), try this breathable-in-rayon maxi dress from French Grey combined with the textured jacket from Market & Spruce to incorporate the styles of fall without over-heating!".  Well, I tried the maxi dress with the jacket she sent me.  I liked that look, and the jacket, but I preferred it with my own denim jacket.

I liked the way the soft light blue of the jacket picked out the soft light blue in the print of the dress.

The dress is a halter style, which is very flattering on a larger bust figure like mine.  It has an elastic  waist.  I would love to try a belt sometime over the elastic portion of the dress too.

The back has a large keyhole opening.

It's the perfect maxi dress for fall when worn with a blazer, cardigan, or jacket because there are no sleeves to bunch up underneath the outerwear.  But I'm really looking forward to wearing it in hot weather next summer for it is very cool and comfortable.

I wore all pearl jewelry to pick out the white in the dress.

Being large busted, I'm always self conscious of showing too much cleavage.  The halter style solves that problem for me!

For shoes, I chose these nude 9 West wedges (old).

The dress is by French Grey and is called "Nichelle Knit Maxi Dress".

Now I know you always are interested in what my husband thinks when it comes to my Stitch Fix box as he always picks out the winners!  He liked everything in my Stitch Fix box too, but this was his FAVORITE piece.  He walked into the room and when he saw me wearing it he said "Wow! You look great!  That dress fits you so well!".  I was surprised by his reaction because he usually doesn't like me in maxi dresses because he likes to see my legs.  It must have been the halter top that sold him!

  13. How fun that you kept so many things! I love this maxi and the color and pattern on you! The halter is a really cute detail and I think sometimes maxi dresses overwhelm a frame but showing off your shoulders and arms definitely works!
