On Winter Break

I am going to Chicago to visit my children and grand baby for a week!  One entire week of cuddles and kisses!  I'm so excited!  I will back to a regular blogging schedule on Wednesday,  February 28th!
I will still be posting to Instagram and sharing our Chicago-land adventures to Instastories!

Have A Great Day!  Amy

  1. Have a wonderful time, Amy. That snowy scene looks perhaps like the lake in Chicago? Brrr. Keep warm. Hugs, x.

    1. Thank you! No, the photo was a free online image I grabbed. There's not much snow here in Chicago and what is left will probably melt this week as it's in the 40's and 50's here. Much warmer than where I live, so it's nice to get away from winter for awhile.

  4. Oh, for some reason I didn't realize they lived in Chicago! How fun is that! I did see an IG photo (or maybe it was IG Stories, agh! my brain in mush from having a sick kiddo all week!) saying you had your grand baby all week long! How fun! Enjoy!

  6. Hi Amy! Thanks for your sweet comment about our house yesterday. I wanted to tell you that I've stared at that grandfather clock of ours and wondered if I could get away with painting it. However, it's my husband's baby plus it's good to have a balance of light and dark in the room. So, we also have brown leather chairs and a couple of stained wood tables around the space. It seems to just bounce a little of the deeper colors and pull it all together. Does that make sense? Hope that idea helps as you are trying to lighten things up.

Can't wait to see your trip pictures. ;)

    1. Thanks Stacey. I think I might have to paint my dining room table and perhaps a hutch I have in that room. There is so much dark wood in my dining room. The floor is dark and all the furniture is dark. Maybe if I just lighten up a few of the pieces it will help lighten up the room!
