Choker Top

I have been seeing these choker style tops all over blog land and I thought they were so interesting I wanted to give one a try.  It wasn't until last Thursday when I was shopping that I saw JCPenney was finally carrying them in their a.n.a. line.  JCP had a great sale last weekend, plus I was loaded up with JCP gift cards, coupons, and rewards so I was able to purchase two new tops and some fun accessories.  Would you believe this cute top was only $14.99 last weekend?  I know, what a score, right?

I wore this outfit to celebrate Father's Day with my husband.  We had such a fun day, even though we couldn't spend the day with our kids.  We went out for breakfast and then to church and enjoyed a great Father's Day service.  After service we went to see "Wonder Woman".  Oh my goodness, did we LOVE that movie!  It was so, so good!  We couldn't stop talking about it we enjoyed it so much.  After the movie, we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant for an early dinner, popped in a few stores to run some errands, and finished the day off with some ice cream from Culver's because they were giving away free single scoops of ice cream to all fathers.  I don't even want to think about how many calories I consumed today!

Everywhere I went women complimented me on this top.  It was very reassuring that I made the right decision in purchasing this top.  I was torn between two colors and I had the hardest time deciding on this one and the pink version seen HERE.    I finally decided on the white because I thought it would be more versatile and I also didn't think the shade of pink in the other top flattered me.  But, I ALMOST came home with both of them!

I wore my top with a pair of Liz Claiborne boyfriend jeans and white flat Liz Claiborne sandals.  I chose a red cross body bag (Charming Charlie's, gift from my daughter) and red earrings and bracelets to bring out the red in the top.

My earrings were a gift from a co-worker who made jewelry.

The sleeves are a 3/4 length bell sleeve.  The top is see-thru, so I wore a camisole underneath, but a pretty bralette for the younger more daring generation would look nice too!

I really love this new style of top and I hope they stick around for awhile.  I think it's a very flattering neckline for most women, and I like that the built in choker kinda acts like jewelry, so I didn't have to decide what necklace to wear with this top.

So what about you?  Have you purchased any choker tops this season?  I'd love to hear from you!

Have a Great Day!  Amy

    1. Thanks Ada, it helps to limit my regular shopping to just a handful of stores. I become very familiar with them, their brands, and sales. I'm anxious to see what color/print you pick out!

  11. The top looks really nice, love the print. The choker detail looks really neat too, but it would probably bother me so I probably won't be purchasing any of these tops.

    1. You are too funny Elli! The choker did not bother me at all, which is funny because I read the JCP reviews and a lot of women said the choker was too tight on their neck. It wasn't on me. I didn't even feel like I had anything on my neck. BUT, I did size up to a size L in this top and I would normally wear a Medium. I never tried the medium on, I just grabbed a large because I like these type of tops roomy. I wonder if I bought my usual size if the choker would have felt uncomfortable?

    1. Thanks Leslie! Did you end up buying one? As for the jeans, the Liz Claiborne brand seems to fit my body like a glove, so I will probably be sticking with them now! Yes, we had a great Father's Day!
