The Perfect Summer Jacket

These pictures were taken back in late May when the temperatures dipped to the forties and fifties during the day and the thirties at night.  As usual I was torn with what to wear, because I wanted to look spring but feel cozy and warm like fall!  So I chose a nautical sweater, a white jacket, and a spring neck tie to accomplish both objectives.

The nautical sweater is two years old and I last showed it to you HERE.  I LOVE this sweater, and I will probably own it forever.  It's such a pretty blue and a nice thin, soft knit.  My relaxed white textured knit jacket I bought new this year from CJBanks.  I previously styled it with another nautical sweater in THIS POST.

I own a lot of spring/fall jackets, but I think this is my favorite by far.  It's just so cozy and comfortable, and the white color goes with almost everything.

I paired my sweater and jacket with a pair of dark skinny ankle jeans by Liz Claiborne.

I wore this look shopping, out to lunch, and shopping (you know...my usual Thursday activities) so I wore striped loafers for ease of walking.

My fun bag is also new this season from CJBanks, but is no longer available.

I LOVE that neckerchiefs are trending this season.  I like not only the extra warmth they provide in spring, but also how they add that extra special touch to any outfit.  This one is from Old Navy.

Would you believe right after this post, when we were beginning to wonder if summer would ever come to Wisconsin, we got a heat wave?  Yup, it hit 97 degrees the second weekend of June in Wisconsin.  That is almost unheard of!  A week later, and we were back to more temperate temperatures in the seventies.

Hopefully, the cold weather is gone for the summer now, and we can enjoy ourselves!

Have a Great Day!  Amy

    1. Thanks Amy, this summer has been so cool we need a jacket for more than just air-conditioning. It was only 57 degrees today...on June 24th!

  3. Cute outfit, love the blue on you. You know, we've experienced the same. Our hottest June temps since 1976 during the week and today we are about 10c colder. I've been in swimsuits, shorts and beach dresses and now I'm back in jeans today, for the first time in weeks. Brrrr.
