Black and White

Black and White.  The classic color combo.  The one color combination no one can screw up.  Just find something black in your closet, pair it with something white, add a few accessories and, wa-la, instant class.

My outfit today is a mixture of vintage, old, and new.  The black cardigan is vintage Calvin Klein found, where else, in a thrift store by my daughter.  The Express tank is new this season, the pants are several years old and although the label says 'Worthington', I purchased them at T.J. Maxx, and the shoes, well, lets just say they are almost as old as me.  You know my policy….unless they are damaged, NEVER, EVER, get rid of shoes.  They always come back in style, and if they don't, well then they are vintage…which is always in style!
The cardigan is actually more of a shrug, for it only falls slightly under the rib cage.  The Barcelona Cami by Express is probably my favorite new tank.  I've purchased about four different colors of them now.  I love how they are snug in the bust line, yet loose in the mid-section.  They are also nice and long, falling several inches past the center of my stomach.  The only drawback to them is that they are  difficult to get on and off.  There isn't a clasp to open the garment up more for easier dressing.  I could have went up a size, but then it would have been too baggy else where.  It is one of the hardships of being a smaller woman with a large bust.  It's very difficult for me to find proper fitting tops, especially button downs.  So I just enlist my husband's help in removing this garment!
For jewelry I wore dramatic chandelier earrings,  and a gold pendant necklace.
The Calvin Klein sweater has very interesting closures.  The button opening is a grommet of sorts, and the closure is a long gold bar.

Here are my very old, old, shoes, still in mint condition.  They are a classic pump, with a small, square heel.  I think I've never worn them much because they are kind of matronly, but they work great with this outfit.
For a handbag, I carried a medium black tote.
This was a very comfy, yet dressy outfit for me to wear.  I wore it all day on Sunday, first to church, out to lunch, and then about four hours in the car round-trip taking my son back to college.  I never felt uncomfortable, which is always top priority for me when it comes to fashion.
Now on a side note, I have decided to start selling some of my clothes that I just don't wear much anymore.  Most of my clothes have only been worn once, and a few pieces I never wore at all (I don't like to return things).  I found a site called Poshmark, where I can list my clothes.  I kept my prices very low since I'm more interested in clearing out my closet than making a huge profit.  Most of the sizes are very small (2 to 4 misses), so if you know anyone that wears my size, have them check out my Poshmark closet!  I've only listed a few items so far, but I'm sure my Poshmark closet will keep growing!  Just click on the link in my sidebar or the link in this paragraph to get to my Poshmark Closet.

Have a great day!  Amy
