A Farewell Card

Hello!  Today I have a farewell card to show you.  I had a young lady at work that I had grown very close to that decided to leave our employer and go back east to school.  I don't usually make cards for everyone who leaves work, because at my job employees come and go so frequently I can barely keep track of who's who!  But this lady and I worked a lot of shifts together and I was quite sad to see her go, but at the same time I was happy for her because I knew she was moving on to better pastures.  So instead of a sad farewell, I decided to celebrate the journey and make her this card:

I used a retired MFT image  called 'Going Places' (you can tell it's old, because in all their original stamps they always cut the heads off) and stamped the main image and sentiment right on the main panel.  I then paper - pieced the dress and colored the map and luggage to look worn and have an 'old world style'.

I hope she is happy in her new home and fulfilling all of her dreams.

Have a great day!  Amy

  1. What nice idea to make a card for your co-worker! And I love the "celebrate the journey" sentiment! It's a great one for people moving on in their career or just for life in general!
