Fashion Over Fifty: Loving Chambray!

Hello!  Chambray or denim shirts were all the rage last season, and from what I can tell, will continue to be popular this fall and spring as well.  And that's good, because I LOVE chambray and I have four chambray shirts in my closet already!  Even though chambray goes with just about everything (which is one reason I love it so much),  I feel that one still needs different washes of chambray to effectively style it.  I have a light wash chambray shirt with small, white polka dots, a medium wash pullover chambray shirt, a dark wash short sleeve chambray shirt, and the one I am wearing in today's post which is somewhere in-between a medium and dark wash.

As the weather is getting cooler, but not quite cool enough for a sweater, chambray shirts are perfect for that extra layer you need to keep warm.  Here I styled my chambray shirt with an embellished white tee shirt.  About half my outfit is from Old Navy:  both shirts and all the jewelry.  The olive cargo pants are from J.C.Penney, the shoes are from Famous Footwear, and the purse is from Francescas.
The pants are a very thin cotton, so they are not too warm if the temperatures climb:  and the outfit is just as cute without the chambray layer, so I can remove that also if I start to get too warm.  Dressing for fall or spring for me is all about dressing in layers because the temperatures fluctuate so much during the day.  It could be only 43 degrees when I leave for the day, and by mid day up into the 60's or 70's, so clothes have to be easily removable!  If it were even a colder day, I could add a cardigan or scarf and this outfit would really scream Fall.
Can you see all the little gems scattered all over the white tee shirt?  It is kinda of hard to see in the photograph, but I really love it.  It's just a touch of extra detail and shimmer, without being too flamboyant as a lot of sequined shirts can be.
The pants have a drawstring at the bottom so you can wear them wide or tight to the leg.  The loafers have a thin blue stripe.
I needed some red jewelry in my collection, and was thrilled to find both this necklace and bracelet at Old Navy.  I really like a lot of the jewelry pieces Old Navy sells and they seem to gear them so that coordinate well with their clothes.
I've shown you my Bohemian purse from Francescas before in THIS POST;  I bought it specifically to wear with my boho dress and for an upcoming trip to the Southwest I plan on taking this fall, but I'm finding it goes with lots of my other daily outfits as well.
So what about you?  Do you have any chambray shirts in your closet?  If you, how many do you have?  More than me?  I'd love to hear from you!

Have a great day!  Amy
