Wink Wink Ink August Challenge 'Metal'

Hello! It's the first Monday of the month so that means a new Wink Wink Ink Challenge! This month's challenge is to use something METAL on your card. Simpe enough eh? To make my card I used the Wink Wink Ink image 'Beauty'. This card ended up much different than I originally planned. Funny when that happens. I started out wanting to make a very rustic, country-western card. But the 'beauty' of the horse image, just wasn't working with that style. So I ended up going with this 'dreamy' style.

To make my card, I first colored the image with Copic Markers and that cut it out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I kept seeing these cool rhinestone accents on everyone else's cards, but I couldn't stomach spending that much money on the pre-made ones, so I was THRILLED to find the Bazzil Rhinestone Stencils at my local scrap booking store. Have you seen these yet? They are great and so much more economical to use. I made this rhinestone swirl myself very quickly and easily. You simply set the plastic stencil on your card where you want the rhine stone shape to go. Then you place your crystals inside the holes of the stencil. When your all done you lift the stencil up and Wa-la! Your own rhinestone accent! I just love it. If your wondering where the METAL is on my card, its here, on my ribbon. I used a metal ribbon clip to tie my bow. My sentiment is from Queen Kat Designs and is stamped in Creamy Caramel on Baja Breeze paper. The other card stock colors are Kraft and White. I also put Stickles on the stars in the sentiment.

And here is my inspiration for the entire card: the beautiful image 'Beauty' created by Melanie at Wink Wink Ink. Isn't she just gorgeous?
If you'd like to play along with us this month and have a chance at winning some Wink Wink Ink Digital Images simply go to the Crafter's Digital Art Center for further instructions.
Have a great day! I'll have some CHA news and pics on Wednesday! Amy
