Digital Tuesday Challenge #10: Decorate a Bag or Box

The weekly challenge on the blog Digital Tuesday Challenge was to decorate a bag or box using your digital images. So I just took a plain white craft bag and adhered a 8 x 11 piece of white card stock to it. I then started layering with different designer papers from Magnolia and I added a ribbon and a punched white card stock strip using the Stampin Up! Scallop Border Punch.

For my main image panel, I stamped a sentiment on a small piece of white card stock. I then used flower and butterfly digital images from MyGrafico. I colored all the images with Copic Markers, cut them out, and glued them around the sentiment and the bottom of the bag. I added buttons and adhesive crystals to the butterflies, the flower centers, and the corners of the main image panel. You can see more detail in the close up shots below.

Here are a couple of close up shots of the main image panel and a tag I made. I used more flower images from MyGrafico for the tag, and added two types of ribbon and many different fibers.

If you'd like to play the Digital Tuesday Challenge, simply click on the blinkie in my sidebar and it will take you there. You have one week to complete your project. This week's sponsor is MyGrafico. As always, one random winner will be chosen and they can pick out a digi-stamp of their choice from MyGrafico designs. Well I don't know about you, but where I live I'M FREEZING! Its only 59 in my house! Its been constantly raining and cold for 3 days now. Everyone is tired of it. We long for some sunshine!

My son had his wisdom teeth taken out yesterday, and everything seemed to go well. They put him to sleep for the procedure, and he seems to be no in pain at all. He's just frustrated because he is starving and can't eat anything. He's 5'9 and only weighs 140 lbs, but he eats ALL DAY LONG, so this is driving him crazy. I told him he could drink all the ice cream shakes he wants, but he says 'I'm dieing to eat a hamburger!'. Poor boy. I told him, older women like me have to starve and deny ourselves food all the time, so I don't feel too sorry for him. LOL! Have a great day! Amy

  1. Oh Amy!! I can so empathize with you! My 20 yr. old had his teeth pulled last Tuesday (he had five wisdom teeth!). He is about the same size as your boy, but he ate that night -- noodles and jello and applesauce! He is already back to pizza now, and had no swelling at all. I think being put under relaxes them so much that they do much better!

    Your gift sack is darling!

  2. I have the hardest time with bag and box projects. Your idea to add coordinating papers and embellishments to a pre-made bag is a good one. It's really pretty.

I had my wisdom teeth out when I was a teen. I am allergic to certain anesthetics so I couldn't be put under. I didn't want to eat because of the pain. But still, I feel bad for your son and hope he gets his burger soon.

  3. Btw... isn't it funny that 3 months ago during the long winter you would have been saying how wonderful it was to be 59° and now you are cold with that temp :-)

  4. Your bag is so pretty! I love all the pinks and especially the row of flowers at the bottom. I wish I could have my wisdom teeth out so that maybe I would lose a couple pounds:).

  8. The weather here is pretty crappy too. I almost put my heat back on, but refused! Instead, I've been wearing sweatshirts and my winter coat! Love your pretty bag! Love the happy spring colors! God knows we need it! : )
