Floral Gingham Top From Stitch Fix: Fix #15

Hello!  I'm home from my vacation to Savannah and back to a regular blogging schedule!  I can't wait for Wednesday to share my very first Savannah Travel Post.  Since it's Monday, I have a fashion post to share.  This is a top I received in my March Stitch Fix box:  Fix #15.

If you read my last fashion post HERE, you would already know I sent everything in my last Fix back.  Out of all the items in that Fix, this was the one item I almost kept.  I really liked the fit, fun sleeves, fabric, and comfort of this top.  But in the end, the mixed print and large flowers were too much for me;  so back it went!

Although the top was a little boxy, it really fit me well.  It had a nice length.

For photography purposes only, I styled the top with black pull-on pants I received from Stitch Fix years ago.  I added a bright pink cross body bag to echo the pink flowers in the top.  I wore pink earrings and a black and white bracelet and skipped the necklace since there was already so much going on in the top.  I finished the look with nude wedges by 9 West (old).

I picked up these pinky-peach tassel earrings on clearance from Charming Charlies.  I absolutely love them.  They are very lightweight, so they don't pull down my ear.

As I mentioned earlier, I LOVED the sleeves in this top.  They had a gathered elastic section in the upper arm followed by a bell sleeve.  So fun!

It was really hard for me to send this top back.  I liked it, but I just wasn't sure how comfortable I would be wearing such a loud print.  I didn't want to spend over $50 on something I may not wear very much.

So what do you think?  Would you be bold and daring enough to wear such a loud print?  I'd love to hear from you!

  1. Welcome back, Amy. I'm looking forward to seeing Savannah, I hear it's stunning. Meantime, you've styled this beautifully but understand why it went back, I too don't like patterns that overpower, take over. But oh how I do love those shoes, my heart flutters when I see them!
BTW, I followed your lead and took shots in my guest room last week too!
    Hugs, x.

    1. Thanks so much! Savannah was gorgeous...more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. I'll be over to check out your post soon. I just got home last night and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with everything I need to do.

  2. It's a gorgeous top, Amy. But if you're not comfortable in it, then it's better you sent in back---otherwise it'll just sit in your closet.
I love the earrings too---tassels are one of my favorites lately!!

  3. Pretty top, I like the pattern but I think with the large flowers AND bell sleeves, there is just a little bit too much going on for me personally so I would have sent it back too.
Looking forward to your Savannah posts!

  4. I think it looks great on you, Amy, but if you don't LOVE it, then I say keep room in your closet for something you do love. Thanks for linking up, xo

    1. Thanks, I did like the way it looked on me and I was so tempted to keep it, but in the end, I wasn't 100% sold on it.

  5. I like the top and honestly it looks great on you. However, if you really aren't sure then don't second guess yourself. Go with your instinct and return it back. Your wedges are lovely! Love the larger buckle strap!

    1. Thanks Maureen. Out of everything in that Fix, this was the one item I almost kept because it fit me so well, but I just wasn't sure about the brightness and the floral/gingham print.

  9. I really like the top and it looks great on you, but if you don't feel comfortable in it then chances are you wouldn't wear it much. I love your bright pink bag! Thanks for linking up!

  10. So sad that you sent this top back. I wish I could have bought it from you! And looked like you in it. I love it. Love the earrings and bag you paired with it. I think you need to continue to try bright colors as you wear them so well. And I need to follow my own advice as I like earth tones a whole lot!!

    1. I almost kept it! It wasn't the brights that I was unsure about, but the large florals mixed with the gingham.

  11. It looks so nice on you Amy! I would feel the print was too large for me because I'm not as slender as you. But it did look nice with the black pants and accessories. Thank you for sharing it with us on the #BloggingGrandmothersLinkParty. Shared on social media!

    1. Thanks Jessica, but now your making me wish I kept the top. Sometimes I wish Stitch Fix let you keep items longer so I can get more people's opinions before I return it.

  14. You look amazing in this outfit! The gingham & floral print pair so well. I'm not adventurous with mixed prints, so I probably would have returned the blouse as well.
