Coral Bell Sleeve Top From Stitch Fix: Fix #15

This pretty floral coral top by Calvin Klein is the last piece from my Fix #15 that I have to show you.  Like the other four pieces in that Fix, I also returned this one.  It's a size Medium, but I could tell before I even tried it on that it would be too big.  I could have asked for it in a smaller size, but it had a very boxy cut so I wasn't sure I would like it even if it was smaller.

The top does have a lot of redeeming values though.  I love the color, the print, the belle sleeves, and the black piping.  It even has a longer length in the back as it does in the front.  It just was too big and boxy and I thought it made me look bigger than I am.

I styled the top with white jeans, coral heels, and a black handbag.

In this photo you can see the nice longer length the top has in the back;  nice if your someone that likes to keep that part of your body covered.

I couldn't believe how my coral heels matched the top so perfectly!

I really did like the contrast of the solid black piping against the coral.

I chose coral earrings and a coral bracelet for jewelry.

The floral print is a pretty watercolor style, and I love the belle sleeves.

And this concludes my Stitch Fix #15 fashion posts.  In summary, here is what else I received in that Fix...all of the items were returned.

Skinny Pants:  Returned

Calvin Klein Performance Wear Top:  Returned

Floral and Gingham Top:  (Returned, but I wish I would have kept it)

Floral Fit and Flare Dress (Returned, but I wish I would have asked for it in a different size)

In summary, I received two items that I returned that I wish I would have kept.  I really wish Stitch Fix would let you keep the items longer before you have to send them back.  I feel I don't have enough time to get every one's feedback before I have to return them.  I've also learned to trust my husband's opinion more than my own!  GASP!  But he has always been right!  He really liked the floral dress and the floral and gingham top in this Fix too.  And in my sixteenth Fix, he was really right!  But you'll hear more about that next month! A friend of mine suggested that I ask Stitch Fix for these items again in my next Fix, so I'm gonna try that.

Stitch Fix Skinny Pants: Fix #15

I have a casual outfit to share today featuring navy blue pants from Stitch Fix.  This is a great outfit for running errands or other casual events.

I styled the pants with a sleeveless, embroidered chambray top, a white denim jacket, grey flats, and a white back pack.

The pants fit me very well, but the rise was not as high as I prefer so I did send them back.

The pants had long pockets and cute little zippers!

Back Packs and ballet flats are great accessories for an active day.

For jewelry I chose a silver and blue bracelet and a simple pearl necklace.

If you missed my other pieces I received in this Fix check out these posts HERE, HERE, and HERE.  I will also do a summary of Fix #15 on Monday when I conclude with the last piece I received in that Fix.

Floral Fit and Flare From Stitch Fix: Fix #15

I received this pretty floral fit and flare dress in my February Fix:  Fix #15.  To see two of the other items I received in that Fix and that I have already reviewed, go HERE and HERE.  This is the third item I am reviewing from that Fix, and like the other two I sent it back.  But it was hard for me, as I really liked this dress.  It just was a little tight for me in the bust which made it uncomfortable...and you know me...I am all about being comfortable in my clothes!

I love the floral design with the solid navy blue bottom.  The colors are so pretty as well!

In addition to the bust area being a bit snug, I also did not like the small straps.  Even though they are not spaghetti straps, I really prefer more material on my shoulders so I can wear a regular bra with it.

Since I returned the dress, this item was styled for photography purposes only.  I chose a white vintage wicker bag because I thought it was fitting with the classic dress.  For jewelry I chose to pull out the corals in the dress with a statement necklace and beaded bracelet.

The blue knit shrug is from my own closet.  I love these shrugs for covering bare shoulders in the summer.

So what do you think?  Did I make the right decision in returning this dress?  I'd love to hear from you!

Have a Great Day!  Amy

Floral Gingham Top From Stitch Fix: Fix #15

Hello!  I'm home from my vacation to Savannah and back to a regular blogging schedule!  I can't wait for Wednesday to share my very first Savannah Travel Post.  Since it's Monday, I have a fashion post to share.  This is a top I received in my March Stitch Fix box:  Fix #15.

If you read my last fashion post HERE, you would already know I sent everything in my last Fix back.  Out of all the items in that Fix, this was the one item I almost kept.  I really liked the fit, fun sleeves, fabric, and comfort of this top.  But in the end, the mixed print and large flowers were too much for me;  so back it went!

Although the top was a little boxy, it really fit me well.  It had a nice length.

For photography purposes only, I styled the top with black pull-on pants I received from Stitch Fix years ago.  I added a bright pink cross body bag to echo the pink flowers in the top.  I wore pink earrings and a black and white bracelet and skipped the necklace since there was already so much going on in the top.  I finished the look with nude wedges by 9 West (old).

I picked up these pinky-peach tassel earrings on clearance from Charming Charlies.  I absolutely love them.  They are very lightweight, so they don't pull down my ear.

As I mentioned earlier, I LOVED the sleeves in this top.  They had a gathered elastic section in the upper arm followed by a bell sleeve.  So fun!

It was really hard for me to send this top back.  I liked it, but I just wasn't sure how comfortable I would be wearing such a loud print.  I didn't want to spend over $50 on something I may not wear very much.

So what do you think?  Would you be bold and daring enough to wear such a loud print?  I'd love to hear from you!

Calvin Klein Performance Wear from Stitch Fix: Fix #15

This is the first post of my March Stitch Fix box #15.  My February Fix (see the summary HERE if you missed it) was a great one;  I kept 3 out of 5 items.  But this one, wasn't as great:  I sent everything back.  I liked everything I received, but nothing hit it out of the ballpark for me.  Like I did last month, I will review one piece at a time, concluding with a summary at the end of the month.

The first item I am reviewing from my March Fix, Fix #15 is this Calvin Klein Performance Wear Top.

I mentioned in my critique to my stylist of my last Fix that I lead a casual lifestyle, so I think that's why she sent me this Calvin Klein Performance Wear top in my Fix.  She also knew I liked the color lavender.

The color of the top is very pretty and I love the soft feel to the knit, but that's where my love ends.  The top is described on the style card as "boxy".  I don't think boxy looks good on anyone, and it's especially not good on my already top-heavy frame.  I need something with more structure.  And even though I lead a casual lifestyle, I don't want to wear performance wear out of the house.  I only get out twice a week on average, so I want to look nice and wear "real" clothes.

Since I sent the top back, I styled it for the purpose of a photo shoot only.  Since it's "performance wear" I paired it with skinny jeans from Charlotte Russe, a white hoodie, sneakers, and a back pack bag (all old except the jeans).

I found this cute white back pack bag on-line from JCPenney last year.  The shoes are by Dr. Scholls and I have had them forever.

The top is super comfy.  The cost was $58.00 which is ridiculously high for me.  Why would I ever pay that for something to exercise in or just wear around the house?  I don't know about you, but when I'm home I am always cooking, cleaning, gardening, or doing something messy.  I would never wear something "new" or "expensive" because I know I'd just end up ruining it.

Every now and then I come across articles that say women should dress nice around the house to feel better about themselves.  I just couldn't disagree more.  Unless that woman has a maid and/or does not engage in physical labour,  I just see it as a dumb way to wreck nice clothes.  ðŸ˜†  What are your thoughts about that?

As I stated earlier, even though it's trending to wear performance wear outside the house, I do not.  I like to dress up when I go out.  Unless I plan a physical event that day (like hiking in a park) I would not wear this top outside the house.

So what about you?  Do you wear Performance Wear outside your home or gym?  What do you think of this top?  Did I make the right decision to send it back?  I'd love to hear from you!
