I wore this outfit to meet my husband for lunch and a co-worker of his spotted me and told him I looked nice that day. My initial reaction was "That was a nice compliment" but then the girl inside of me started to wonder "What did she mean by that? Don't I always look nice when I meet my husband for lunch? I mean, I always dress up, it's not like I go shopping in joggers or PJ's." I discussed it with my husband and we determined it had to be the red heels. I don't normally wear heels when I meet him for lunch because I go shopping after wards and walk too much. But this day I decided to try it since it was a low heel. But nope, by the end of the day, my feet were KILLING me. It was probably the pointy toe and not the heels, but the heels were still a pain! It was a hot day so the tar that they use to fill in pavement cracks was melting. The tar was so soft, that every time I stepped in it the heel of my shoes sunk in. Ugh! Will I ever be able to wear heels anywhere but church? Every thing else I do always involves so much walking!
Everything I'm wearing is old. The tee I picked up on clearance last year at JCPenney. The skirt and bag I purchased this past spring from CJBanks. And the shoes I picked up on clearance at DSW eons ago.
For jewelry I chose red and gold bracelets and a pearl necklace from Francesca's.
The necklace I just picked up for only $10.00 when Francesca's had a great jewelry sale. It is the Rhina Freshwater Pearl Necklace and it is still available, but now it's no longer on sale.
The last time I wore this skirt I paired it with a metallic silver tee HERE. I discussed then about how I ordered the wrong size and I was debating taking it in. I never did. I just cinched the drawstring waist tighter.
So what about you? Do you go shopping in heels? I'd love to hear from you!
Have a Great Day! Amy

I love the red heels! These are such a trendy color and are just super cute with the whole outfit. I wear small heels when out shopping without my littles because that's the only me time I get!ReplyDelete
Thanks Ruth! I know what you mean, that's why I dress up to go shopping or go to church cause thats my only chance too!Delete
Another great look Amy, love how well all the colors coordinate! The shoes are gorgeous! I don't wear high heels, so no shopping in heels for me!ReplyDelete
Such a chic skirt and love the pop of red with the heels. Amazing look!ReplyDelete
I love this outfit! It's dressy but casual! I never go shopping in heels...I mean...the pain! What you need to try are some open toe pumps. They are so much more comfy. I love the look of a pointed toe but not the feel! Thanks for joining my Linkup!ReplyDelete
Thanks Julie! You are so right about the pain. As for pointed toe...I bought a few pairs when they were really trending, but I've since stopped...they are just too uncomfortable!Delete
Hi Amy, I love your heels, they're really chic and feminine, and I like the way you've kept the rest of your outfit subtle, and let them take the limelight. I mostly wear flats with trousers or jeans, just because they're easier on my back, but my nod to glamour would be a touch of red lipstick: in the same way as your red shoes, it dresses up whatever I'm wearing.ReplyDelete
Thanks Jacqui! I've getting more adventurous with my lipstick lately too. It really makes a difference!Delete
I bet you always look nice Great outfit and no I break my neck on heels but they look great on youReplyDelete
Thanks Marja, you're so sweet!Delete
I do think what kind of heels make a difference!! I've shopped in many but most have a chunkier heel!! Love the outfit, Amy!!ReplyDelete
Oh yes Jodie, I actually try to avoid buying anything with a pointy heel and I usually choose chunky heels. I think I picked these up on clearance for almost nothing, that's why I bought them.Delete
Hi Amy: Love those red heels!! I like shopping at DSW, also. I have a hard time with heels anymore. I love how they look, but they do make my feet hurt. I usually wear them sparingly and never for shopping. Love your look!ReplyDelete
Such a lovely top dear! I love the pattern, simply cute. Lovely the simplicity, yet stylish look.ReplyDelete
