My daughter Ashley has owned this skirt for a long time, and I always wanted to borrow it but I was unsure of how to style it. Then I kept seeing skirts very similar to this one styled with black, so I decided to give it a try as well.
I wore my skirt with a simple scoop neck black knit tee shirt from Worthington. sold at J.C. Penney HERE.
The skirt has an elastic waist, so it's super comfy. I carried a vintage black velvet clutch of my mother's and wore black and gold jewelry.
A classic peek-a-boo toe pump completed the look.
In keeping with the classic, timeless look of this outfit, I wore an elegant diamond and gold necklace that I picked up on clearance at DSW.
This is such a fun dress to twirl in!
Have a Great Day! Amy

Thank you Jaymie!
DeleteVery pretty look. Perfect for a special occasion. I really like the clutch. My mother had one like that too. I wish I had it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen. That's interesting that your mom had a similar one too. I'm glad I hung onto it all these years.
DeleteWhat a fun skirt, and it looks great paired with a black or neutral shirt. How fun that you can both wear the same clothes and she is willing to share!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellie! It is fun having a second wardrobe to borrow clothes from, but she borrows a lot more of my clothes and shoes than I do of hers. And she gets all my hand-me-downs too!
DeleteThat is such a pretty skirt and I just adore the gold color! I always think of NYE when I see gold, this would be perfect for it! I love it styled with the black top!

Thanks Carrie. This would be a great skirt for NYE, especially in your climate, but where we live NYE always ends up being the coldest day of the year...I'm talking below zero windchill. I always end up bulking up in sweaters and long pants on NYE.
DeleteThis outfit looks so pretty on you, Amy! Love the skirt!

Thanks Abigail!
DeleteThat skirt is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI just saw a feature in one of the magazines, where they were showing a skirt like this with a graphic t-shirt!! My step mom thought it was silly, but really, it's not much different than your black shirt!

I would love to style this skirt with a graphic tee. I actually looked for a white one with a gold graphic, but couldn't find one that I liked.
DeleteYour're so right, this is a great colour combo! Love your skirt - so chic.

DeleteAbsolutely love the skirt, I always liked a combo of black and gold but your daughter's styled it with white has opened my eyes. I just published a post where I also wore gold and black but in reverse. Please check it out https://lookingfabulousat50.blogspot.com.au/2016/08/my-anniversary-present-and-what-i-wore.html
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'll check your post out.
DeleteAmy, pretty outfit! I love the gold midi skirt, so versatile and fun! Black and gold reminds me of my Dad, missing him, and the Steelers his favorite football teeam as we are from Pittsburgh.
