I have been seeing a lot of blog posts where fashionistas are combining the color coral with neutrals like olive, and tan. I love the color coral and find it very flattering on me, so I actually have a lot of this color in my closet already. I never paired the color with olive or tan before so I thought I'd try it. I really like the way it looks!
In my first outfit, I paired a gauzy coral top from Old Navy (old) with khaki cargo pants.
You might have seen a hint of this coral top in
yesterday's post where I talked all about the tassel necklace that I made myself. I've also previously showed you this top in
THIS POST where I wore it with white pants.
My khaki, floral flats (old, Payless) have a touch of coral in them so they pull the outfit together quite well.
The pants are from
J.C. Penney are still available on-line. I love these pants. They are a great alternative to shorts for they are very thin, cool, and comfortable.
In my second outfit I paired a lighter coral top with the same cargo pants from J.C. Penney but this time in Olive Green. What can I say? I love these pants so I bought two pairs in different colors!
This is a pretty knit top with some lovely shirring detail on the bust line. It is also available for sale at my
Poshmark store if your interested. I love it, but I have so much coral in my closet already, I don't really need it.
I carried my favorite bag from Francesca's (old), and a new bracelet I found on my last vacation. It has all these really neat words engraved on it like "peace", "relax", etc.
My sandals are new this season. I actually bought them because the sandals I was wearing at the time broke while I was out shopping for the day. I couldn't walk around the store barefoot, so what else was a girl to do…..buy more shoes! I picked these up at
DSW.
Pairing a colorful color like Coral with Olive and Khaki was a new experience for me. That's what I love about fashion blogs, they break me out of my usual style choices and give me new ideas to try. In the past, I would have normally paired olive and tan with more neutrals, like black or white. And I would have only paired coral with white or black, or a print with coral in it, or something in the same color family.
I now can think of olive as a neutral, and maybe I'll be brave and try other bright colors with this shade!
So what about you? Have you tried coral and olive together? What do you wear the color with? I'd love to hear from you!
Have a great day! Amy
