Fashion Over Fifty: Printed Shorts

Do I look like I'm ready for a Caribbean Cruise in these pictures?  Although I'm not going on a fun, tropical vacation, I am going somewhere very warm and tropical in a few weeks (more on that in a later post), so when I saw these soft, printed shorts at J.C. Penney I thought they'd be perfect for the occasion!

My green sleeveless shirt is from The Limited.  I bought it last year.  It's a polyester material, with a V-neck, and a faux pocket with gold accents.  I decided to play off the gold detail in the shirt, and add a heavy gold chain necklace.

It started to rain when we were taking these pictures, hence the darker markings on the shirt.

The shorts have a pretty green and yellow tropical print.  They have a back elastic waist with a sash tie…so they are super comfy!  And they have huge pockets:  always a plus for me!

I wore yellow and gold bangles on my wrists and carried my yellow purse that you have now seen several times already (and my daughter Ashley was worried I wouldn't use it enough!).  And could a  tropical outfit be complete without a fedora?  Of course not!

My white sandals I've probably had my entire adult life.  They have seen a lot of wear, and yet are still in great shape!

I know a lot of women are intimidated by printed pants, but because shorts don't cover the entire bottom half of your body like pants do, if you want to wear printed bottoms, shorts might be a better option!  I know I'm super happy with mine!
