My beautiful grandchildren and I have some pretty fall fashions to share with you this month. And as a special surprise, their mother Ashley joined us in this month's "Grandma & Me" post.
Alethea has been such a good big sister. She puts his pacifier back in his mouth if it falls out and he starts to cry; it's so cute. About the only issues we've had is that she wants to play with all of Atticus' toys, especially if they are new. She doesn't understand she is too big to sit in Atticus' bouncer. 🤣 She also has had to adjust to sharing her "Mamy". It's been hard for me when I visit to find time to smother Alethea with attention, yet, also spend quality time with Atticus as well. I don't know how all you grandmothers with dozens of grandchildren do it. I'm already feeling overwhelmed. But if I have to feel overwhelmed by something, this is probably the best thing to be overwhelmed about!😃
As I stated earlier, these pictures were taken at the end of August when the weather was still warm (and still is for many of my warm weather state friends). What I like to do when the weather is warm yet I want to dress for fall, is to wear fall colors in light weight fabrics. I also don't transition my sandals to boots until after it's officially fall (which is September 23rd for all the fashion bloggers who think fall comes right after the 4th of July 🤣).
My sandals are by Tommy Hilfiger and Alethea wore these cute white shoes.
The top I am wearing is new this fall. I picked it up at TJMaxx. I just love the color and the zipper neckline. This color is EVERYWHERE this year. If you can only buy one new fall item this season, buy something, anything in this color! Or, buy a pair of snakeskin booties...those are totally trending too! I paired my new top with a pair of green linen wide leg pants by St. John's Bay.
I couldn't find this top on-line at TJMaxx, but check out your local store, it might be available. Otherwise, I love THIS ONE on Amazon. THIS rust colored tee is pretty cute too!
Mom wore a very old maxi dress that cost only $1.99 from Rue 21. And, would you believe I wore this very same maxi dress on my very first fashion post in 2013? Yes, check it out HERE! Yikes! I can't believe I've been fashion blogging for five years now! I also can't believe how much older I look! That's what menopause does!
This was such a beautiful day! A gentleman saw us taking pictures of each other and asked if he could take a picture of all of us together. I always appreciate that when someone asks, because we have so few pictures of the entire family together.
I absolutely loved this little nature park. There was a marsh, a lovely wildflower garden, and a cute play area for the kids. We loved watching the bees and butterflies fly around all the flowers in the garden.
Alethea loves to explore in nature. I thought the expression on her face when she touched the blooms of this grass was priceless!
And of course Alethea's love for exploration causes her to wander off and we are forever chasing after her!
Have A Great Day! Amy

Oh my goodness, what a blessed grandmother!! Your grand babies are so precious, I cannot believe how big Alethea is getting! Such beautiful photos!ReplyDelete
Thank you! Yes I am!Delete
It was fun to see your 2013 post! These pictures are precious! I love taking pictures of my boys especially when weather and location cooperate!ReplyDelete
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks much!Delete
You all look so beautiful! Love the dress! It looked great on you and looks great on Ashley as well! I can't believe you've been fashion blogging for so long!!ReplyDelete
I tried on some rust colored sweaters the other day but was short on time so couldn't decide which one to get, but will have to go back to Target soon (or order online.) It's such a beautiful color! I did used to have a rust colored thin top I purchased a few years ago. I finally threw it out this year because it had shrunk in the laundry. I just kept holding on to it because I loved the color so much!
Your grandkids are both so cute!!
Thank you! Neither can I! I keep thinking it may be time to call it quits. I haven't quite made up my mind on that yet. I hope you find something in rust. Good luck!Delete
I just love when people offer to take photos too; it's rare that we get any photos with me in it. Though I am trying to get better about taking selfies but it's just not the same. I came so close to buying a new sweater this weekend in that pretty rust color but ended up buying clothes for everyone else in the family instead.ReplyDelete
Yes, it's so nice. I don't like to ask people. They say mothers are the most rarely photographed. We really need to make an effort to get in the picture too so our kids have a memory of us. Your shopping story sounds so similar. I never bought clothes for myself till the kids moved out. There was always someone in need. That's what mothers do. We always put our kids before us.Delete
Aww such little cuties.. you got some lovely photos.ReplyDelete
It looks and sounds like everything is going smoothly! They are so cute and I love your outfit!ReplyDelete
Yes it is! Thank you!Delete
I love your comment about bloggers thinking fall comes right after 4th of July! Too funny! These photos are all so cute! And Atticus is just adorable! There isn't anything better than a sweet sleeping baby!ReplyDelete
I'm glad you liked it. I don't want to offend anyone, but when people start wishing for fall too early it just depresses me. We have such long winters and short summers here in Wisconsin. Thanks so much. Yes, I love to hold a sleeping baby.Delete
Everyone looks lovely. My favorite things are Alethea's beautiful eyes and Atticus's little round tummy. I can completely relate to feeling overwhelmed in trying to balance your affections and attention between those little dolls. When I was in Ft. Worth in July with both daughters and granddaughters, I tried very hard to pay equal attention to my 9 year old grand and my 3 year old grand. But the 3 year old is all over the place!! She requires more attention. And my older granddaughter was so understanding and sweet about it.ReplyDelete
Thank you. That is good to know. Perhaps it's just the season and it will even out a bit as they age.Delete
Gorgeous family photos Amy and Atticus seems to be a chubby, healthy little soul - who very thoughtfully slept through all that picture taking (the perfect model of a perfect baby!)ReplyDelete
Thanks for linking up with us at MLSTL and I've shared on my SM :)
