Early September Bible Journaling Pages

I'm so happy so many of you enjoy my Bible Journaling Pages.  I wasn't sure if there would be a lot of interest, and because it's a new hobby for me I'm not that great at it. 😁   But maybe we can all learn together!

As I write this post, I am almost to the end of 2 Samuel and David's life.  Wow! Did I learn a lot studying the life of David.  He was human.  He made a lot of mistakes.  But he also did a lot of things  right, like always seeking God's advice before doing anything.  He had such faith in God!  He always knew He would take care of him.

The beginning of every book in the Inspire Bible always has a beautiful header and pre-preprinted image.  This is how I colored it.  I used colored pencils and Gamosol to get such intense color.

Here is a page I created myself.  Would you believe the background is Washi Tape?  Yup, it is, I just covered the margin with the tap then I used stickers for the main sentiment.  The birds are stamps.  Since I can't draw or stamp directly on Washi Tape I had to stamp the birds onto card stock, cut them out, then glue them to the page.  For my journaling notes I hand wrote them on a separate piece of paper, cut them out, and glued them to the page.  It was a lot of extra work, but I liked the end result.

Here is another pre-printed page that I colored with gel pens and gelatos.  I messed up the "Prosperity" word so I just hand wrote it on a separate piece of paper and glued it to the page.  I always show my mistakes or "bad pages" to encourage to not be afraid to try Bible Journaling because you're afraid to make a mess in your Bible.  I make mistakes all the time, and sometimes I can fix it and make it better and other times it's just a so-so fix like this one.

Here is a page I created all on my own using craft paint.  I painted the background blue then hand painted the tree, grass, and water.  I really loved this verse.  We've had so many issues with flooding in my community the past few years, I definitely had the visual!

This page was created when I read the words "Now is the Time" referring to making David king of Israel.  But I thought about how everything is in God's perfect timing.  God chose David to be king when he was just a boy, yet it wasn't until years later he actually became king.  I think it works the same for us, with our prayers and promises.  Everything will come in God's perfect timing.

To make this page, I colored the background with gelatos leaving white spots for journaling.  I stamped pocket watches all over the page.  The scripture verse is hand wrote using gel pens.

Here's a page I wasn't sure I should post or not because I didn't think it was that great.  But like I said at the top of this post, this is a learning process for all of us so I wanted to share it.

I created this page after reading about about Israel's/David's victorious win against the Philistines and how they then moved the Ark to Jerusalem.  All the people were 'Celebrating before the Lord singing songs and playing all kinds of musical instruments"  David was excited he even DANCED!  So after painting my margins with blue craft paint, I just randomly stamped a bunch of music notes and confetti then used a variety of stamps and my own handwriting for the sentiment.  I added a singing bird to represent both happiness and music.

Here is a pre-printed page colored totally with gel pens.

And finally, my personal favorite page this week.  This was a page where so many mistakes were made and I just kept covering over them with craft paint and starting over.  It's a great example of how sometimes our mistakes just make our page better, because all those layers of craft paint created a great background.

I created this page after reader the verse "He devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from Him".  Isn't that awesome?  What a great God we serve!  Think about it.  Anytime you're praying for that lost son or daughter, or any loved one..(maybe it's you!)  God is "DEVISING" ways to bring you back into fellowship with Him.  I just love it!

After I created my background I used stamps to make the sentiment using different colored inks and alphabet stamps.  I really wanted to emphasize the word "separated" so I stamped it on a piece of card stock then I cut out every single letter (representing separation) and glued them to the page.

The flowers are stamps from an old Stampin' Up set.

I hope you enjoyed my pages this week.  I have more pages from 2 Samuel to show you next Tuesday, then we will move on to 1 Kings!

Have a Great Day!  Amy

    1. Thanks Ellie! That's good to hear about the dance/music page. I tend to find that with a lot of posts no matter what the topic. I don't like it and I'm not sure if I should post it, then it ends up being really popular.

  4. Had to look and look again at the page where you used the tape in the margin. Just amazing. You are so very clever. The 2 Samuel page could be a painting! And I love the way you used your old stamps on some of the pages. I did one page in my Bible this week. Nothing as spectacular as yours but thought of you as I worked on it!
