Early May Bible Journaling Pages

Tuesdays are the days I posts my crafty endeavors.  If I don't have a craft or a handmade card to share, I show my Bible Journaling Pages.  If your new to Bible Journaling and want to learn more about it, see this post HERE!  I use the Inspire Bible which has some pre-printed pages, that I can just color in, but I also venture off and get creative sometimes and create my own pages.

Normally when I Bible Journal in my Inspire Bible I do some of my own creations, but this week I am only showing you some pre-colored pages.  Even though I enjoyed reading the books of the law and got a lot out of it spiritually, nothing really inspired me to create my own art.  I still get so much out of coloring the pre-colored images because I memorize the verse and mediate on it as I color.

This image I water colored.  Isn't this a beautiful verse to mediate on?  Even though it is referring to the Jewish people,  I believe it applies to all believers today.  I love how personal this verse is.

This next verse I colored the background in with Stampin' Up!  markers.  I didn't quite like the way it turned out.  I'm learning so much in this Bible what mediums work well for me and what don't.  This is definitely my "experiment Bible".  Hopefully when I start a new Bible, I'll have all my techniques mastered.  ha ha!  I doubt it.

This is another verse that also applies to the Jewish people, but again, I think it applies to all believers today as well.   Although it's referring to the time when God set his people free from slavery in Egypt,  I believe it is for me as well...for He broke my slavery to sin when He died on the cross for me and I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.

As much as I've enjoyed reading the book of Leviticus, I was excited to move on to Numbers.  I think that excitement showed in the bright happy colors I chose to color my image.  The background was colored with gelatos and water, everything else was colored in with gel pens.

This was a fun image to color, so I chose hippy colors!  The graphics reminded me of the 60's.

Isn't this a beautiful verse?  God does carry through His promises.  It may not always be in our timing, but if He promises something, He does it!

I used wet gelatos for the background and gel pens for everything else.

For the book of Deuteronomy header page, I colored the entire page for a change with a light water color so I could still read the words.  I used a combination of colored pencils and gel pens for everything else.  I really love how this page turned out.

Another beautiful, beautiful verse.  So many believers ignore the Old Testament, especially the Books of the Law, but there really is so much to glean from these books and so many beautiful verses of God's love for His people.

I used pink gelatos for the background and gel pens for the words and images.

Have A Great Day!  Amy

  4. I have tried to copy your technique using the gelatos on the background of my Bible journaling pages but it never looks as smooth as your background colors do. Your Bible really has some lovely images to color. Hoping to get back to journaling in mine this week.

    1. You're probably not smoothing the gelatos out with a sponge. I color my page with the gelatos like I would with a crayon. Then I take this white, firm triangle sponge that came with my gelatos to smooth it out.
