Red Pants and Blue Embroidered Smock Top

We had a cooler day in Wisconsin so I was able to wear my new red pants from Stitch Fix!  If you remember my Stitch Fix Review post I asked for red pants.  The first pair my stylist sent me were a burnt orange pair of capris...so back they went.  The following month she sent me a true red pair, ankle length, and I couldn't have been happier.

Ever since I received my new red pants, I've been on the look out for tops other than white or black that would go with them.  I spotted this lovely smocked embroidered top by Liz Claiborne when I was JCPenney and I snatched it up!  It's main color was not white or black, and I knew the red embroidery was a perfect match for my red pants.

This top is not meant to be off-the-shoulder, but I wore it that way because I thought it looked better.  It did pop back up every time I got in or out of the car, or if I lifted my arms up high, but other than that, it stayed in place quite well.

As I write this post, the top is on sale for less than $12.00 and comes in many different colors.  You can also see how the top is designed to worn on the website HERE.

To avoid looking too patriotic, I accessorized with silver instead of white.  I carried a silver cross body bag, and I wore silver bracelets.

My new red shoes by Worthington, also from JCP, were almost an identical match to my pants.  Wearing shoes the same color as my pants made my legs appear longer.

I kept the silver theme going by wearing a silver head band in my hair.  My earrings were a blue/light turquoise color to match my top.  Bright red lipstick finished the look.

The top is a little longer in back than it is in front.

Have A Great Day!  Amy

  4. Oh yes! The jeans are fabulous on you and the shoes are the perfect match and yes, they do elongate your lovely legs. How clever of you to spot that the top would go so well, then to tweak it to OTS - genius! Hugs, x.

  9. Hey, I have some red pants, too! Wonder if mine fit? That top would work well with my pair, I think, since they are a tomato-ey, orangier red rather than a deep red. Love how your red shoes match perfectly. That ankle straps makes them so sassy! Your yard back drop is always lovely.

I like a headband on you. I need to pull mine out and wear them again.
