A Spring Shopping Outfit

Before I begin today's fashion post, I just want to inform everyone that I've been experiencing computer issues again, so if you have noticed my absence from commenting on your blogs, that is why.  I've been trying to use my phone but it takes twice as long as it is a old iPhone 5.  I really need to start updating.  My Mac is six years old.  I went shopping for a new computer today and I couldn't believe the advances in technology compared to what I'm using now.  Wow!  I had no idea my devices were so dated.  I will get a new something eventually, but in the mean time I will use what I have till it crashes and I have to spend all my extra time saving photos to another location, leaving little extra time for anything else.

Thankfully, even though my computer was in the shop for three days, I got it back just in time for my regularly scheduled fashion post.  This is an outfit I wore shopping on a slightly warmer spring day before we got hit with a blizzard and another 12 inches of snow dumped on us.  The open toed shoes I did not wear shopping but just put on for the photos cause they are so cute.  It's still too cold to wear these type of shoes shopping.  I think I wore booties the day I wore this outfit.

This is a nice outfit for spring because the top is a light rayon material,  has 3/4 sleeves, and the colors are so bright and cheerful.

Everything I'm wearing in this post is old.  Two of the items (the top and shoes) are from Stitch Fix.   The jeans I purchased this season from Charlotte Russe.  The scarf and bag were gifts from my daughter.

The shoes are by Steve Madden.  They are a velvet texture.  I love the chunky heel and the fun mustard yellow color.

Jackson is bombing our indoor photo shoot as usual.  This is the new guest room we've been remodeling all winter.  I am pleased to announce that we put the last finishing touch in it this weekend so look for a Big Reveal post next weekend IF my computer doesn't crash.  Anyway, we added a pocket door to this room and every time I open or close the door Jackson is so perplexed because he always wonders where the door went to.  He loves to watch it magically go behind the wall.

I wore a black lace top tank top from CJBanks underneath the green top because the neck line plunged a bit too low for me.

For jewelry I just wore a gold bracelet and rings.  I didn't add a necklace because I wore a scarf.  I find I wear scarves more during transitional seasons than during the winter.  They provide just the extra touch of warmth I need.

It is a light chiffon scarf wrapped twice around my neck then tied in a knot.  I try and keep the knot under the wrap, but it usually pops back out.

The denim is a high-rise skinny jean by Charlotte Russe.

I will close with this old photo from 2013 where I paired my Stitch Fix top with black dress pants.  Wow! I can't believe this top is five years old and I not only still like it, but I've gotten so much use out of it.

Have a Great Day!  Amy

  1. What a pretty outfit! The shirt looks great paired with jeans, not sure I have anything in this color but i LOVE it and the colorful scarf looks gorgeous with the outfit!
I see Jackson is being such a cutie again, I love that you include him in your photos! The room is really looking gorgeous, such pretty colors!
It's a Winter Wonderland over here right now, and still snowing. Spring must have gotten lost somewhere along the way LOL.
Sorry to hear about your computer problems. Mine is really old too but refuse to buy a new one until this one completely dies. And I have an old iphone 5s. I'm the type of person that won't buy new electronics until absolutely necessary. That money can be used on other more useful things!

    1. Thanks Elli! I'm thrilled when Jackson joins our photo shoots. He adds so much to the pictures. My daughter said it was snowing in Illinois today. It's been such an awful spring. I am exactly like you when it comes to new technology. As much as I'd love to have the latest gadget, I can't stomach spending that kind of money. I use whatever I have till it completely dies. I'm the same with cars. People are shocked when they see what car we drive. I don't care. I'm not embarrassed. It's called being "smart" with your money.

    1. Thanks Cheryl. It's working for now (fingers crossed) but the techie said it could die any day now. I've been busy moving data to a second source anticipating a crash and pre-scheduling blog posts.

  5. I love how pretty, Springy and colorful this outfit is. I love that the bottoms, top, purse and shoes are all different colors and that adorable patterned silky scarf pulls them all together. =) Also Amy, I always love your indoor photos. They turn out nice. For the Winter time, I take at least half of my OOTD Photos indoors, too.

I too need a new lap-top badly since mine is so dated. Argghhhh!

    1. Thanks Ada. I'm happy I finally have a place in my home to take indoor photos in the winter. I never did before as the room colors weren't great for indoor photography. I'm slowing going through my house lightening up all the rooms.
