Hello! Today I will be showing you a card I made with the newest Vintage image released by McMahon Five Designs called 'Stained Glass'. When I saw this image, it was love at first sight for me for it contains two of my favorite things: Poppies and Stained Glass! Poppies are one of my absolutely favorite flowers. I love how bold their color is. I have a huge garden, and light colors tend to get lost amongst all the acres of green. But when the poppies are in bloom, they really 'pop out' in the garden, and you can spot them from a long way off. I love the deep black centers poppies have, and their soft layers of papery petals. I had no difficulty coloring this image with my Copic Markers because I knew from memory exactly what they looked like. I chose DCWV 'The Mariposa Stack' for my paper because I thought the rich orange background papers and butterflies went perfect with the image. After coloring my image, I coated it with Crystal Effects so it would look more like stained glass. I then put the image on Chipboard to make it stronger and mounted it up on dimensionals. The butterflies were cut out of the same Mariposa paper with a Martha Stewart punch. I put a crystal in the center of each butterfly head and I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder.
What a stunning card Amy!! I just love your colors and the cracked glass technique. Gorgeous details.
